IF YOUR UNDER THE AGE OF 13 BEWARE!
As most of you know Facebook has bought oculus.
To use your oculus product you MUST LINK your FACEBOOK PROFILE to your OCULUS ACCOUNT to even set it up. no way around this.
Now, you HAVE TO HAVE a facebook profile, and that profile must meet facebooks policies of no fake identities, and MUST BE 13 OR OLDER! The facebook profile you create MUST BE YOU AND GENUINE.
Now if you seen a person using facebook that was underage therefore breaking facebooks rules and policies, would you report that profile?.
If a profile is banned or shut down, that oculus product that is tied to your facebook account now becomes a brick.
If your child used the oculus headset with your profile and you are over 13 and the child is NOT over 13 you can still have your account shutdown because -- the person using the oculus is not the owner of the facebook profile--

FARE WARNING - as the new quests have been available to this game its been FLOODED WITH 12 AND UNDER AGED KIDS. this game use to be such a great game and i feel im obligated to REPORT all people breaking the oculus age restricted rule.!!
you have to look at this oculus product as if it were an extension of facebook and all rules and policies apply to both because both are REQUIRED TO HAVE.
I hated this buyout.

Your reporting will have no effect. They spent billions on this tech and their goal is to push it to mass adoption. Your reports would go into a filter and they'd see you reporting often so your reports would have no weight at all, they'd pay you lip service saying they're looking into it and nothing would be done because money trumps everything unfortunately. Hell, Oculus is behind the change of Onward for Quest, as I've said many times before, everyone follows the money all of the time, that includes Downpour. Facebook knows the demographic of their headsets, they will not follow any kind of policy that suggests kids will be kicked off by reporting their age because that age is a target market for the product itself. It sucks, but that's just the way it is. Doubt me? Report away and watch in awe as nothing is done about it.

money or not, its down to the facebooks level and they will not tolerate under age people using the facebook platform. one report of a user being underage WILL be looked at because there alot of legal problem they run into if even one case slips through for an extended amount of time. not just american laws but EU laws and other world laws. report the facebook file and not the oculus account.
look whats happening on twitch and all other big platforms, they are taking these underage things very serious.

im saying this because i know it works, ive seen it first hand multiple times. and not just by me, everyone has to do their duty or nothing will happen. this is the only power we have against this sh*t storm of infants. ive looked in to this alot when the buyout happened. even if they are 14 and you thought they were 12, thats up to facebook to decide. and when it comes to kids, almost every platform will pay attention!

You can thumb down on a player's name in the tent to see their user ID. Feel free to try to report this somehow. Or here's another option: Shut the F up and grow up.

Really think about what you're suggesting here and try any way you can to explain how you are not being a total and complete piece of sh*t by actively trying to shut down other people's accounts and games just because you don't like them being on your servers. Now we all get it. Kids are dumping all over this game and it is making all of us real players want to just walk away, burn it down, or worse. But as soon as you try to F it up for others like in real life you become the a**hole.

I am a d*ckhead myself. I know that. But I don't think banning people from whole platforms is the way to get us the tools we need to keep our games filled with real players. As much as I want to never hear another kid's voice squealing in the rank back alleys of afghanistan, I am not willing to believe the solution is for me to charge a real life attack on them when all I really need to do is start my own server and put it on veteran. If PvP... yeah I got nothin for you, but I'm sure there's something a little less child like than running a personal attack.

I know you're just going to yell at me. Go on, do it. But have some damn dignity here. It's a video game. You currently have the option to set a password on your own server. You probably have friends. Invite them through your own methods and coordinate to run games to your standards in your own space. It sucks, but until the devs give us some kind of tools to at least advertise our servers as 18+ or whatever, then this is all we have and all we should have. Aint a damn one of us who should be the volunteer police force for facebook. I wouldn't take a dump for those clowns. Nevermind crusade to find people who might in some a-hole way be bending the terms of their service. That is not a fight I am willing to participate in.

i get your point, and it is a good one. 36 bald fat lives with parents ive seen you around here alot and i agree with you on alot of things, so no ill will. but i am not bending anything, those are the clear rules of facebook, no one under the age of 13 can use facebook in anyway. twitch will ban your account if your child touches the key board. its happened and it was big news. she got her account back only because of the out cry from thousands of people and the circumstances were finally looked at (this can happen if your child is under 13 and uses your facebook because it is now technically hacking. retarded right? i know)... if you break the rules of facebook someone will report you right? so its a ♥♥♥♥ move to report someone breaking facebookes top 3 rules? how bout they abide by the rules then no one has to report a thing.. its that simple.

Go right ahead. I told you how to find their user ID. Many didn't know about that. Just seriously think about what you're doing.

Some people are good people with whole libraries representing hundreds of games. Some their kids play and some are their little escape from the horrors of life. If you successfully get their accounts blocked cause some massive and idiotic parental failure to keep their kids off the adult games you will be terminating everything else on their account. Across all means and uses of facebook or oculus. I may hate that site with a passion, and I may believe nobody on earth should support facebook. But I cannot say I condone personally hunting down methods for getting someone else's account removed unless it was for a reason that was genuinely destructive to others, like death threats, assassination plots, or whatever else some psycho may do. Kids clicking on their dad's game and being turds - it definitely hurts our game, but it's not enough for me to seek this level of "justice."

I don't care what facebook's rules are. not a single one of them. It's on them to discover these things. You can help if you want. It's a free country and there's nothing I can do or say to stop you. In the end you may have spear headed the great child exodus from our delightful world of VR warfare, and we all may owe you a symbolic one. But you know somewhere out there is a 20 year combat vet with a kid who screws with their parents' VR and plays games they shouldn't. Maybe at the very least make sure you're not bringing down someone who deserves better.

FYI, the oculus FB requirements to sync an account have grandfathered equipment. I run a CV-1. I do not need a FB account to use Oculus. I know they recently made that a requirement but it might only apply to quest 1 and 2. Not sure about rift. It could be tricky to pinpoint. If you blanket call out everyone under age you may end up getting ignored. Kind of like cry wolf.

Do what you must. Just think about it.

i understand, and your advise will be greatly heeded. since all these events have been recent and no real notices have been used to bring these things to peoples attention. many may not know as you said. but this will be more and more heavily enforced as facebook really gets their fingers into the oculus product, but its just a matter of time. and as the companies will say "its was up to you to read the TOS, and that its the responsibility of the user to keep up to date with all changes with TOS.. so i guess we can look at this as warning of facebooks future for oculus. this has only just started.

Just for extra laughs, I've been on this game for like 4 years or so. almost 900 hours logged. First round I ran tonight I accidentally shot 2 of my team mates blackout dead. TWO! Not even at the same time. I'm tempted to turn myself in to the FB police. That kind of rookiness should have its own corner of Onward, ideally. We can all hope one day it will. And just for kicks I am ok with the idea that the code knows 2 separate and avoidable TKs in a single round automatically bans me to the kids corner for 2 hours.

Hopefully I'll see you on the fields one day, but ideally after I'm done sucking like I just got the game 2 days ago.
