SS/Pixel Density is superior, but in some games it helps to have a little MSAA cause of the Aliasing (depends on engine). I never saw Onward without MSAA i cant say anything if it looks bad without it or not.
But i play all my VR games with Pixel Density 1.7 and without MSAA (excluded Project Cars 2 only).
Devs dont waste our ressources.
This really anoys the crap out of me. So if I want full res shadows I have to take the useless 8X MSAA!? This is the second game (Orbus being the other) that has utterly missed what graphics settings should be. At least add a "custom" and let us set the settings to our liking. 8X msaa is so damn uselss its crazy. Super sampling with 2X is far superior in everyway.
This needs fixing quick. These profile settings are crapy.
Edit: Updated Titel.
The more it gets suggested, the more likely the devs will put it in!
i hope the developers take a look at this tread and working on better settings, this cant take long to code some little buttons into the game for more graphic adjustments.
I agree that 8x might be overkill, especially when 4x allows you to add more SS and I also agree that there should be custom options exposed to the user (at the very least via an .ini file).
If they do change these presets, we may see that smoke isn't slowing everyones systems down and those that can't bear with the "terrible" graphics can make their own adjustments. That would be ideal.
