Sent back to menu after map loads up.

First off, I'd like to thank the dev's for the free weekend, I didn't know what I was missing out on, great game!

Problem: I keep being forced back to the main menu 10-15 seconds after the map loads and the match starts. This is in solo play.
Looking through other threads with the same problem I followed the instructions for installing the Easy Anti Cheat, even tried a fresh reinstall of the game along with EAC. After following the instructions it seems to happen intermittently now (I was able to play on the new winter map but not subway or suburbia unless in freeroam.)*Edit
I'm hoping this is a short term bug as the game played fine for a while before the update.
I'm will try and figure it out some more tomorrow.

That said, I'm 100% sold on this game and having a blast when it works.
I will be purchasing a copy very soon.

*Edit: Map has nothing to do with it, it was only a coincidence, if I reload the map enough times it works.

*Edit2: The issue for me seems to be the number of bots in the level, I can play with 6 or 8. Increasing the number (12-16) causes me to be sent back to the menu after spawn.

Please follow these instructions:
you can try re-installing EAC. It does sound like you're being kicked out due to EAC
To install/re-install EAC, you will need to navigate to the "Easy Anti Cheat" folder in your Onward install directory.

Inside the EAC folder will find the installer for EAC (EasyAntiCheat_Setup.exe), run it as an administrator. then click

- Uninstall EAC (if applicable)
- If Steam installation, verify game files.
- Install EAC from game directory
- Restart PC

If it doesn't work let me know.

Still happens about half the time, I was able to play a few rounds on tanker vs bots, switched my loadout after the second match was over, started the level again and was booted back to the menu.

I am having the same issue, I'm trying this again but i'm being booted out from the Firing Range.

Have the same problem. Followed your workaround. It worked for a couple of rounds, then it broke again and jumped me back to the menu.

Can you try whitelisting the game in your antivirus or firewall?
Or might want to see if disabling the antivirus and firewall gives you a good result.

We don't officially recommend turning off your antivirus though!

Just added Onward.exe to the firewall whitelist, only OnwardLauncher.exe was on there by default. Hope this works!

Played a few rounds on different maps (solo), died in my last game so I switched loadout and restarted the match; forced back to the main menu after a few seconds again.

This doesn't make the game entirely unplayable for me as it's very hit or miss but it is a bit annoying. I understand that this game is an early access title and that these things happen.

I'm looking forward to a fix for this issue.

I'm guessing the new build you're talking about is the 1.5.1 that came through a couple of hours ago, I'm having the same issue as all above and this patch did not fix it for me. As with Noted it is very hit or miss, some games work absolutely fine and others drop me as soon as the actual game loads (after spending 15 minutes in the loadout screen waiting for the previous game to finish and people to select loadouts and start game... grrrrrr)

Bad news: The game still boots me to the menu.

Good News: I've figured out a reliable way to duplicate the bug 100% of the time on my computer.

For me it seems to be tied to the number of bots I have in the level. If I select 6 or 8 then I can play no problem. Yet if I increase the number of bots to 12 or 16, the game will force me back to menu a few seconds after spawning in. I tried this on multiple maps with multiple loadouts and it has narrowed down my issue considerably.

I hope this information helps in locating the issue for some other players.

I haven't tried with anything less than 16 bots, but for me at least that will not duplicate the problem 100% of the time because occasionally I will get a game with 16 bots that I don't get booted back to the menu from.. I'll test it out with less bots too and see if that at least makes the issue occur less often, at the moment with 16 it seems I get booted from about 4/5 games but definitely there are some where it doesn't happen even with 16 enemies.

I'm interested in your results since PUNISHER and I seem to have the same issue.

I was able to play a round with 3 other people and 16 bots after trying to connect to different servers. This was probably the 5th one I tried, as all the others had 12 or more bots and kicked me after spawning in.

After the round was over we played again and I got about half way through the match (10-15mins) before it happened, mid-game.

This is a bit more upsetting to me since I don't know if I'll be able to play, even if I get through the first 15 seconds without being forced to the menu.
