How do you get the menu up on the tablet?

Bit confused, just tried playing this for the first time.
Firstly at the beginning when it asked me my preferences for stuff like "view hands or controllers", the game set me up with the opposite of every choice i made, rather bizarre!

So then I'm doing the tutorial and wondering, is there any way I can get the options screen so i can see my hands... no it would seem!

Ok, I carry on and quite liking it, but I get the bit with the tablet and it says "type the code" and I'm like.... er, you what? Would like to tell me how?

So I'm holding it in my left hand and pointing and clicking at various locations on it with my right hand.... no menu, no keyboard?

I have since looked youtube and when people pull out their tablet, the map is smaller and there is a menu on the left and it says "Code". How do i get the menu?

sorry, the main menu isn't accessible through the tablet. you'll have to leave the lobby you're in to get to the settings or main menu.

there should be instructions next to the marked location. walk towards it to read the instructions in the tutorial.

to insert the code. you'll have to stand next to the objective. there once you click code, a 7 digit code will appear. remember the code and go back one page and click "uplink" insert the 7 digit code there and press "send"

I don't mean the main menu... My tablet displays just the map, it takes up the entire screen.

I see there are buttons on top of the tablet, but they don't appear to do anything.

Ok i see them now! Not very easy to see, could do with a shadow.

I wonder if part of the problem was that when the game loaded up, I never saw the options page. When i loaded it up just now I saw the options for the first time and was able to crank up all of the graphics settings.

Maybe, but it's not that clear. I mean it's nothing as clear as you youtube videos, I assume the old style.

But does white text on a pale yellow background scream common sense to you?
