Audio in Menu, but no audio in Game.

Hi,
I have audio in the menus, I mean the menus of onward, but no sound in the game session itself. In Solo mode, it starts already in the tent. When the game loads from the menu to the tent, the audio stops and from there no more sounds. When I exit back to the menu, the sound is back. I tried in SteamVR mode and also in Oculus native mode. I rebooted my PC, even tried a few device enable/disable tricks and what not, which were suggested on other forums. I have found 2 other posts, one on steam , one on reddit about this very issue. Obviously, I am not the only one experiencing this issue, but noone came with a solution, except somebody saying he got it working by enabling /disabling the rift audio device before every single game match.
EDIT: I just discovered that I have it in other games as well. So it is NOT Onward specific. It just happened, that I noticed it in Onward first. Just for the sake of helping others, I will let this stand here, as it might help anybody else running into the same issue. Once I fixed it, I will post here.

If you go in to steam settings when in game and there go audio can you there change so it say mirror to rift.

Well, I found what causes it on my end. In Playback Devices under the Speaker icon in the tray, you go to the Rift Audio Device and right-click to Properties. There under the Advanced tab you have the setting for the Audio Format. Although I usually have it to DVD (48Khz) quality for any device without issue, it seems that the audio engine in-game only wants to work correctly with CD quality (44Khz). The menu audio doesn't seem to bother. I had the issue in BAM as well. I tried it with both settings and can perfectly reproduce it switching back and forth between both formats. I must also say that in Dead & Buried, no audio issue was noticed under the setting DVD quality.
