Teleport option for those of us that need it
I was wondering could a teleport option be added for those of us that need it? Back during the summer sale a group of us had been looking at it and decided to purchase. We purchsed in hopes of playing together but none of us can get past the first few minutes without feeling sick. We decided not to refund and keep the game as lesson learned but we still really want to play it. I can understand not having it for public matches but we were going to run privately against bots. Thanks for your consideration in advance.

No would be my guess, it will not work, if they do so teleport do so game move you to the spot you chose then your ♥♥♥♥♥♥ when a enemy come because you cant do anything, if you just popup at spot then it will be totaly messed up, have you tested to add chaparone so it allways show? and some say lean forward also help.

Didn't hurt to ask I guess

I dont remember the game but one game had a teleport where you select point to teleport, watch your body 3rd person move there from where you were to where you want to go and as soon as it reaches it you get teleported. That could work I guess.

Try pavlov. It has a similar system to what you want i think

I almost puked over everything in Pavlov.BAM has teleport but I like the principle of onward. Everyone isn't just running around playing grabass

I guess it wouldn't hurt to allow it vs AI but maybe the devs prioritise other stuff. How long have you played VR games with locomotion? Many that have problems at the start get rid of/lessen it after a while.

I've been using VR in one form or another over two years

How big is your group? The amount of players that experienced motion sickness in Onward is really small afaik, it surprises me that everyone of you experienced it. If you have a few guys in this group it´s nearly impossible from a statistic point of view that everyone has problems with it, unless it´s a group for people with motion sickness problems ( ;-D ).

Sometimes it needs some time until the mind gets used to the movement system. At the very beginning I had also little motion sickness problems, especially if I was crouching with the thumb pad it feeled sometimes weíred and I got a bit sick. But after a while I had absolut 0 motion sickness problems, I can play Onward 8 hours straight without a single bad feeling and I know a lot of guys where it is the same, while I remember nobody that had big trouble with it at the same time.

Maybe it´s an option to try the new defend/attack mode together with your mates, there you are not forced to move so much and it´s probably easier to get comfortable with it. Also you can easily reduce the number of bots if someone wants to make a little break and play with the other guys without need of leaving the lobby for the guy doing the break. Worst thing is to keep playing for a longer period of time if you have motion sickness, it´s better to make a small break and then try it again. But since you are using VR over 2 years you know this probably already.

I can be wrong but maybe it´s in your case also a bit group psychology, if 2 guys complain about motion sickness the third guy focus on it and start to feel the same while the 4 guy had maybe already little problems and is feeling them now also stronger. Maybe you should try also a round or two alone against bots, only to get sure that it´s not like this. I experienced in some games a lot more motion sickness than in others with similar movement systems due to the fact that the game was not focusing me so strong on the game, so I focused more on the sickness and it went stronger.

Even if Dante would add other locomotion systems for private lobbys it would be sad that you couldn´t play with everyone else. Unless it´s really a group for motion sickness people at least some of you should be able to play the game without motion sickness after a while.

I have 0 issues with onward locomotion usually, but recently I tried to do 2 things - run around while seated and run around with hands down, that is no weapon visible in front of me.

Seated strafing got me sick quick. While no reference model of a weapon in front of me got me feel weird so I stopped too.

What Im saying here is standing up, moving where your weapon is pointing and seeing weapon in your FOV and concentrating on enemies are things that help reduce motion sickness a lot.

i might add, just take some dramamine, its a pill for motion sickness and nasue, only side effect is slight drowsiness, and that doesnt happen unless you take a bunch. should make getting used to the motion fairly easy

I guess we could call it an update on the situation. I have just kept trying and it really doesn't bother me anymore!!!! Now if I could just find some casual people to play against bots with that would be great !

I dont know where you are but I would be down with that. I am east cast USA. I have played bots solo and gotten killed in like three matches against real people in total of a minute maybe all three games combined.

I'm in Atlanta. East coast as well. Add me if you'd like to play sometimes

I used to be the same. Keep trying, getting your VR legs is as much work as getting your sea legs.
