Microphone issues with Oculus Rift?
I was playing today and no matter what I tried, nobody was able to hear me talk. whether I was using the radio or using proximity talking. same for when we were in the lobby. Anybody else have trouble like this or is it just me? I'm trying to figure out how to get this to work so I dont have to use sign language whenever I play

Have you confirmed it works in Oculus Home games? I'd look in Home under Devices->Rift make sure volume is all the way up. If you right click your volume control in the system tray, click recording devices do you see the Rift Microphone there and when you make noise do you see the meter raise? May have to right click it and go to properties and make sure it's volume is up there as well.

If you're running windows, try right clicking on the sound icon in the taskbar, bottom right, and click "Recording Devices." There's a microphone that says "Rift audio" under it, make sure that's set as the default device by selecting it and clicking "Set default." If you're running a game you'll have to rerun it.

For vive, i'm not sure what it's titled, but there's probably an option similar to it.

This is how I have to get Coms in Onward to work all the time.

I finally figured out how to fix it:
1. Leave your headset in an inactive stage (on the side of your bed or something like that)
2.go in to your sound control panel
3. click recording.view your microphone in the settings.
4.you will notice that your microphone has greatly improved and can actually hear you when it's down, not moving next to you(creepy right)
5.now while NOT picking up the heandset, click properties on the "Rift Audio" Mic
6.then click in the advanced tab and untick "Allow application to exchange control of this device"
7. then in the custom TAB click AGC
6.Now go into your devices on your Oculus, go to headset and change your microphone to Use Windows default.

now you should be able to use the creepy amplified volume as your normal volume which is way it should be lol.

Note: you may need to play around with the order 6 to 8
you will know when you've got it right when you're looking at your recording settings through the Oculus desktop view and it's much higher

Thanks Chris i think you really helped me, people was unaible to hear me in rec room. that's solved now, but i have to keep the recording view on my mic so i hear myself talk?
Also i'm still unaible to cast spells using voice commands y the Ravenclaw VR free game :(

I wanted to add that my issue was that I had set "Oculus Virtual Device" as default without seeing that there was a separate "Rift Audio". If nothing above helps, check your settings for this, switching it helped me.
