LOL ok, good luck.
lol, this sort of PC garbage is why we have Trump for a president. People are so sick of it. If it's going to be realistic a person that short in the game (or a midget) shouldn't be capable of running as fast as those who are average height (just like in real life).
First.. Trump? Really?
Second... This isn't Battlefield or Call of Duty where everyone is the same height. VR has limitations and having a required altitude is perfectly fine for the reasons already stated by others.
Third... OP, this game isn't for kids. If your kid is short, them's the breaks. Get over it. He can stand on a milk crate.
let me start by saying, yes, there has to be a reasonable minimum height, we cant have like odd little 3' dwarfs running around, but reasonable means catering to most regular people, down to just under 5' tall i'd say.
your first point has little weight imo, someone being 5'0" or 5'2" is not so amazingly small as to amount to an advantage, and in some cases it is a disadvantage in terms of seeing over certain cover etc.
furthermore, you're talking about height as though anything under 5'6" is a child or practically handicapped, the global height average is just 5'7" there are entire nations who's average height is lower than the minimum height in onward, for example indonesia, thats millions of people whom, you think the game should not cater to. if the game is going to cater to someone like me who at 6'3" is 8" over the global average, then it's fair to also cater to people who are 8" below the global average at 4'9" you want to scale movement, i think thats fine, but its not all that different.
your second point is meaningless, because we all know that lack of maturity happens with gamers of all ages, and as i pointed out already, lower height doesnt automatically mean a player is a child anyway, so regardless, height has little to do with maturity. and we're really not talking about children, but teenagers anyway. actual children in this game isnt very common, and teenagers dont really have a height issue, by 14 years old the average person has already reached over 90% of their eventual height. so while i dont think the game should cater to kids, i dont think it has to, by catering to the majority of adults, most teenagers are already accounted for.
your last point is incorrect again as well. first off, like i said, we're not really talking about children mostly, but teenagers, and teenagers are mostly as large and physically capable as plenty of adults, there are lots of small adults who in real life are less physically imposing than plenty of teens. the game shouldnt be trying to cater only to large people.
you also made 3 points related to gear.
body armor: there are vests made in all sizes, as i said, there are some entire countries who's average height is smaller than 5'6" , and they have body armor, as well armor is adjustable. heck a friend of mine in a major US security organization is just 5'2" and he has no problem fitting vests.
rifle size: likely more specifically, pull length, this is a none issue, most moderrn rifles are adjustable, bnut mostly just for comfort's sake, older ones fit pretty well even down to a small size, i own a lot of guns of all types, old rifles, AR's an AK and other various types of firearm and have never found one flat out too large for small people to operate.
Recoil: again, not important, while size makes managing recoil more forgiving, most of it comes down to technique, ive seen small people fire large guns like a champ, and large people get bopped on the nose by moderately powered guns. it comes down to training and familiarity, and the game implies that your character is a well trained operative.
if you've ever seen IPSC, 3 gun USPSA etc type practical shooting competitions, they've got kids competing in the junior divisions all the way down to 12 or so years old, they'll tend to stick with 9mm and 5.56 for softer recoil, but especially in like 3 gun, they've often be shooting 12ga, or .308 sometimes for long shots.
there are 80 pound little teenage girls competing who handle the recoil just fine and can beat most adults in competition.
