.wma files not working
All the files I originally had on my computer are fine to play. However, every time I put a new CD onto my computer and try to index it, it won't work so I can't play them. I realised all my old music is .w4a and all the CDs are .wma so am I right in assuming .wma files don't work?

.wma files do work, I just tested it. What is the problem exactly? Is it that you can't index them at all, or that you can't find them in your list of artists to play after indexing? (Or something else).

When I index their folders, it says no new songs are found and then when I try to play them, they won't work

Hmm strange. Might be worth trying to convert one of the songs to Mp3/ another supported format (lots of quick, easy and free converters online) and see if that fixes the issue. Almost all of my music is in Mp3/ .wav format but the .wma files that I do have seem to work just fine.

Maybe that WMAs has any king of DRM protection?

Possible. I just converted a whole album into .wma and renamed all of the songs. They all index and play fine, so it can't be a file format issue right?

when I scroll over the song to play it, it says at the top 'indexing tracks' but then I click on it and it says 'unable to play' and then when I try to index it, it doesn't work
