Beat Hazard
2 players 2 360 controllers
When I select 2 player and have 2 360 controllers plugged in it tells player 2 to click the mouse button to begin. Is there a way for both players to use a controller?

It should show mouse icon and "A" button icon on that screen If both controllers recognized.

Does both gamepads works on a very first screen with BH logo (where it suggest to choose controller or gamepad) ?
It doesn't show the "A" option and only the player 1 controller works on all other screens. This controller is working because can use it in other games and big picture mode, but it does nothing when in BH.

You should be able to press "A" on the second controller on that screen

Yea, "A" does nothing on the second controller. Rebooted, switched USB and still nothing. Works in other games though.

It doesn't show a controller option when selecting 2 player. It only has the mouse icon.

I was wondering if the game didn't recognize a controller marked player two (by the light on the controller) so I unplugged the player one controller that worked before.
After unplugging player one the other controller still showed player 2 on the controller. Booted up the game and the controller worked fine. So it's not the "slot" that's the problem.
If I plug back in the player one controller and boot up the game then the player 2 one does nothing. Not menus work with it and when I select "2 player" from the menu the only icon shown is the mouse one; there is no A button shown and the player 2 controller does nothing.

This game can be played with 2 controller right? I don't know what else I can do since the controller works fine in everything else there just seems to be no option for it in game.
Another thing I noticed, on the opening screen if I click the mouse to use mouse and keyboard then when I go to 2 player it tells me to press "A" for player two. This time there is no mouse option. So I can get the opposite with player one on keyboard and 2 on controller but can't get both on controllers.

This isn't a bug. KB&M can be used by either player 1 or player 2. But you should be able to play with two controllers. We played with my friend many times with two controllers, but not with two X360. I can't remember if we tried to use two X360 after my friend bought it. Maybe we will test that at Sunday.

Ok I got it to work. I didn't think of this before since the controller both worked in other games and worked when one was unplugged.

Anyway, went into device manager with both plugged in and under "Microsoft Common Controller For Windows Class" I uninstalled both of the controllers found there. After that I restarted the computer and plugged the controllers back in, waiting for the drivers to download/install before plugging the second one in.

Now it works! Thanks for the help, looks like it was a driver issue with one specific thing not working I guess.

Hey, I have two xbox one controllers with the same problem. I tried the fix above, it didn't work. They work with every other co-op game. If anyone could give some insight i would really appriciate it, been trying to fix this for close to a year.

*EDIT* So I both controllers can be used in the game but only one works at a time. On the second screen it either will or wont have "A" depending on whether I started with KB&M or Xbone Controller.

I don't understand your edit. Are you saying you found a fix?

I have the same problem when playing over Steam Link. Playing locally on the computer both controllers work, but over Steam Link there is only the option to press the mouse button for player 2 and the controller does not work.

I also have this problem. One is a Rock Candy 360 controller, wired, and the other is an MS 360 controller, wireless, using the 360 dongle.
