Dude, how do you score high in this game!?
Hey

I've been playing this for a couple hours (lol) today and have been playing pretty much everything I listen to besides stuff I know wouldn't work at all.

I'm doing these shadow missions, and this one is Score 5 Million in 1 track. How do you get your score that high in 1 track...?

I play to speedcore, hardcore, 90's gabber, old school d'n'b...industrial...all kinds of stuff :P

Fun game, the score is confusing though...

Max out some score perks (Ultra), use Insane / Suicidal, 150/200% visuals, etc...

Yeah, I turned on the Insane difficulty and my score went up dramatically. I'll try increasing the visuals too.

Thanks

Wait, visuals affect score?

This was a thing for BH Classic and I think that it's true for current BH too

Longer songs! Because of how multipliers work, you'll get WAY more for playing songs that are longer. Also, higher difficulties are great if you can handle them. I recently got 9mil on a ~6min song on Suicidal.

I noticed that, though, unless you're using one of those auto pilot ships, it's for some reason drastically harder.

I'm still playing on Insane and dying -___-. If I play something slower, not that big of a deal, I don't want to play to slow music though. I'd rather play to DnB mixes and stuff. So yeah...

Long songs, dare devil and art of dodging give the best results. If you manage to get around 70-80 multiplier before firing and then drop bomb you'll get crap load of points. In ultra it's even easier since songs aren't as much randomized as in classic BH. :bh:

Spend maximum $$$ for the Score Booster Perk in addition to the daredevil perk. I invest in the I Don't Die perk as well, combined with not using the perk for extra lives. I usually reach a multiplier of 300x-400x by the end of a decent track.

Aside from grabbing all the Scoring Perks, a consistent way to score high on almost every song is Shield Stacking + Dare Devil perk. This takes advantage of increased Shield duration, if you use consecutive Shields.

It works like this:
1. When song starts, move around the screen to avoid enemies without firing. This will allow you to start stacking Dare Devil. I usually try for 27-36x multiplier or up to 78-87x on slow starting songs.
2. When the screen is filled with enemies you cannot avoid, activate Shields and use all of it.
3. Duration of over 10 shields can last over 1 to 1.5 minutes. Move around the screen and keep taking multiplier pickups without firing to keep stacking Dare Devil.
4. When Shield time runs out, play game normally.
5. Avoid firing to stack DareDevil whenever you have the chance.

With this method, I don't have to fire my guns or kill anything until about 200x multiplier or higher. When the shield runs out and you use the Bomb, plenty of high-scoring enemy ships are killed at a high multiplier bonus. I can usually get around 430x to 450x at the end of most 4 minute or longer songs.

There is a problem with this. It's really only for clearing single songs on Normal Mode, ideally at 3-10 minutes. This doesn't work very well for Survival mode, Boss Rush, or much longer songs.

Also, once you use all your Shields up, you don't have anymore Shields unless you get lucky with random pickups. You will have to be very good avoiding death just by dodging on Suicidal. Playing this way can also force you get good at dodging, without any Shields to save you from mistakes.
