Beat Hazard
Hardest song you've ever played?
For me it used to be Through Fire and Flames because of it's high speed and 7-minute length.

But then I played this:

(Download available at the website in the description, for free because this guy is awesome.)

It's not the length, or the gun, because it's metal you get an amazing gun.
It's the freaking enemy combination.

Pushers + Worms + the occasional light trail = TOTAL HELL.
I have yet to finish this song on Suicidal, maybe I should try a lower difficulty...

That being said I think it's funny that it's called Under My Control and there's a lot of pushers and worms.

Since today (at March 9, 2017), that would be the hardest song I've played. Even though it's the theme of Cirno from Touhou.

I almost got a game over during the last 5 seconds of this song after running out of superbombs but I had finally managed to survive. But I actually took like 5 or 6 attempts on this song and I was using the suicidal difficulty.

I actually had downloaded it from DJ the S's dropbox, not with 'YouTube to MP3' converter. Because I don't use a 'YouTube to MP3' converter for the Aduiosurf-based games.

Check this out how I've completed it on suicidal difficulty too:

I have no words for this song, It took me all night to beat.

I tried the first song posted 3 times (youtube to mp3 converted) and the highest I got was 64% completion. (Note that I have no special abilities besides more bomb drops, the rest of the perks are score boosters.)

I'd say it's as hard if not harder than the one I posted, but for different reasons. (No pushers in one.)

The storm of enemies covering the middle vertically followed by worms killed me the most.

As for the second posted, it isn't in my personal music taste so I didn't bother.

TtFaF isn't that hard to be honest compared to other songs. There's no sole winner I can think of for it, but I've had quite a few electronic songs with a strong beat, and a few long progressive rock tracks which have been difficult because of the frequency of the enemy spawns. The worst ones will have some peaks, and then a lot of sudden tempo and volume changes, so you have no chance of surviving in that case unless you use a shield or a superbomb.

Megalovania is also a hard one. 92% is my current record on SUICIDE difficulty >:(

The hardest, until now is The Dutty Clem by Will Bailey.

"The Grinch That Stole Christmas" a 20-minute track of the entire story, and I managed it all the way through, with almost every life, superbomb, and refect shield lost. Weird Al's "Albequerque" was just as hard as well, but it was only 10 or so minutes.

The hardest one I've played was Dawn of battle by Manowar because it kept spawning a boss just before the slow part which makes it almost impossible to do a lot of damage before other enemies start comming in. idk how boss spawns are determend so maybe it's just my bad luck. this is the song if you want to try it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5qUVyD1LLtU

I was first thinking it was about the second game and not the first but when I found out it was for the first game I booted up Beat Hazard 1 and tried to beat in on Suicidal 200% and only died once but still good song.

Something in the Way by Nirvana because there's a secret song after it & there are several minutes of silence between the 2 songs which means your firing speed gets ridiculously low so the enemies just keep piling up. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PTGRreZsNHE

Probably would have to be this:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qMCYw3lSYhQ

Just over 7 minutes long, and it completely switches genres midway through.

Some songs have long periods of near-silence, other songs have insane enemy combos - this song falls into the latter camp in a huge way. I had to use every EMP I could get just to disable the boss' lasers, because if I'm too careless and don't take them out in time, the area that they box me into gets too small for me to survive in.

There's also Reapers all over meaning there's more homing missiles than most other songs I've played. There's also a quiet part near the start of the song, so my firepower is lowered for a few seconds while smaller ships just pile on the screen.

It took me about 20 to 30 tries to do this.

On Zen difficulty.

With no extra lives.
