Confused about characters slot

How many free characters slot we have? I've searched and saw people saying there is 20 or 25, but I only see 12 when I log in, is it because I just started? When I create more alts more slots become avaible? Or is it actually only 12 slots?

You can purchase extra character slots from the cash shop, you can get additional slots from events

Its 24 when you make more you will see that u can scroll down.

I'm pretty sure it was only 20 char slots when the game first launched. Neople gave away least 2 free char slots when they released Kunoichi and Shadow Dancer plus recent events have had 3 char slots as rewards.
