Well mages and F slayers have no same subclasses and brawler subclass of fighters play very differently.

Depends on what you mean; they will probably make the rest of the opposite gender classes, but they will keep them very different in gameplay. I believe it was cited that, after f gunner, it was too much work to make different genders be clones.

Gender-lock has only one meaning, just saying. So far as I can tell, there's currently three gender-locked classes:
  • Priest
  • Thief
  • Knight

They've been working on a Female Priest for a while now, even showed some concept art of it a year or two back. So all I can really say on that end is that quite possibly eventually we'll get something.

As for Thief and Knight, well it depends on their popularity. Thief gets the short end of the stick often due to lack of popularity so i'm not sure how they'll fair getting a gender swap class. As for knight, they still haven't even officially released all of her current classes though I don't see them making a gender swapped class of her due to story reasons

And if they do decided to go on with the gender swap it begs the question of how they plan on doing it. Would it be akin to FGunner and MFighter, same base subclass but built in different ways, or would they go FSlayer and MMage route, making entirely new classes that only share concept and weapons? One definitely takes more time than the other.

I wouldn't hold my breath either way. In KDnF they just recently gave MMage 4 more classes. Assuming they continue building up the classes they gotta release the rest of Knight eventually.

Except seveal classes, most prominently mages and slayers, are gender locked. You can't make a male vagabond or female glacial master. They share the same name, but they are entirely different, from base to 2nd awakening.

There have been images floating around of female priest designs, and I think they've considered it, so it's probably happening way down the line (korean version is expecting to get a whole new area soon). Knight still needs her other 2 sub classes to be released, as does Lancer.

There is no F lancer, M creator, F dark knight, M witch/summoner/battle mage/elementalist, no F blood mage/swift master/dimension walker, no M-demon slayer/sword master/dark templar/vagabond, and F blademaster/asura/berserker/soul bender.

Outside of neople basically making clone classes of fighters and gunners(expect brawlers) a long time ago they have stopped since then. Now your choosing different characters entirely not different genders of the same class. They have over time added many new skills and reworked both genders making them more and more different from each others subclasses thankfully.

Yes they will always technically be genderlocked. That's just how Eastern MMO's usually are. As others have said some subcalsses have the same name but play vastly different which is a good thing because it adds diversity to the already big roster.

It's a korean based game, so more then likely a BIG Y E S.

I mean there's a female night and a male dark knight, which are about as similar as male and female mages. Creators are also gender locked but dear god hopefully nobody plays them anyway. Also Female priest is pretty anticipated in the korean version of the game but with no official word of it coming soon.

Thief is a newer class and may stay gender-locked for a long while, if not forever.
