as someone who has 18 characters (and "♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥" was what I said when I counted them out), you're better off making new characters rather than taking advantage of the ability to swap subclasses freely as long as you're under 50.
PS: as hard as it is (believe me, I know), try to stick with one character (like your launcher) and pick a profession to go with them. Once you get the account vault (at lvl 60 i believe), you will have a much easier time funding other characters.
I have a "set of mains", which include my Female Launcher (with M Grappler, Dark Templar, and a yet to be determine forth), so I think I'll be fine when leveling up. I know about the Arad Explorer's Club (rewards for alts) and the other alt-friendly features DFO has, but they require higher level characters instead of a bunch of low level ones.
After going through the subclasses, I narrowed them down to 12 that I will make or have already made. There's still a few more additional subclasses that I am undecided on (M Slayer, both mages, the Thief), but otherwise I think I'm set.
Again, thank you for answering!
