Armor question
so all this time I have been switching my armor whenever the number is + , but I feel like I shouldnt be doing that , should I not be focusing on the + when I choose which armor to go to?

But in all seriousness, the best I can recommend for katana is ms fundamentals. The next thing is to unlock hell mode, either in grandine or castle of the dead, and just do that until you can get a bunch of epic gear (end game); the main ones being flame sword: caravella and magic cataclysm (plate shoulder). You also want either night shadow (leather) or magical rainstorm (plate) top, native ornamental shoes (heavy), flame drop trousers (cloth), and either tactical lord (leather) or submarine volcano (light) belt.

The rest of your gear will be legendaries that give fire damage...they are expensive to say the least.

As for zanbato, you want byeollungum, and a full epic set + cold princess accesory set or refined otherverse set.

Unfortunately, neither of these weapons are cost effective, so...good luck!
its fine bacon convinced me to switch to bludg and short sword XD so for bludg and short sword you still reccommend ancient of illusion?

Ancient illusion for bludgeon. Bludgeon is your shoe-string budget set: good to start with, doesn't really go far. Outside of filling all the armor and accessory slots (and sub equip), a good starting bludgeon is a pink. You can make "halidoms" from recipes you get from bosses in each area. I recommend it. The next best bludgeon is tarbaze quaker (I can't recall the exact spelling): a legendary that's pretty decent. After that is the epic bludgeon mysteltainn (unfortunately, the rest suck).

For Short Sword, you want 9 pieces of monster ruler. Short sword is more expensive than bludgeon, but it's worth it to become an icicle machine gun. Besides 9pc monster ruler, you want as many extra levels of Elemental short sword mastery as you can get. You can get them from your avatar top, from the Sea God pants by doing the ancient/requiem dungeon Ghost train quest you get daily, and from weapons.

For short sword, I recommend either halidom, or the boss unique Magnotium short sword, as it gives +2 to ESSM. The epic road event might drop you a broken destiny, which can beat out liberation sword. After broken destiny/liberation short sword, you want yin sword: makya, unless you get invisible sword arges from epic road. Either sword will be all you need for a long time.

Edit: Forgot to mention, but you might have noticed that time lion guy from time gate; if you deal with him you can go to an area with iris; do her quest and you can enter the ancient or requiem dungeons, which can be quite difficult until you get your chronicle set. Still, each day you get quests, from iris and various npcs; I recommend getting either of the stone types from iris, and using them to buy yourself the requiem weapon, as it's basically the best free weapon you can get. You can then try to upgrade it to liberation, but the chance is low; each failure gives you a material, and when you get 10, you are gaureenteed to get liberation, but it will be untradable.

man if only I knew I would have been getting those weapons early on instead :/ dang , well I shall be buying me some bludgeon weapons and short swords
Welp they just gave away 7 more days of neo prem so u can rent a weapon every day until you find something decent. Start farming oblivion meteors to buy Magnotium short sword, as it gives +2 to ESSM. like queeny said.

If you have neo-premium, you should have an N among your icons; click it to a list of weapon. Despite having durability, they never lose it, but you can't upgrade them.

which actually comes to my next question (sorry for all the questions ) I to be honest never upgraded my weapons and well I feel like now that I am 86 I should be doing that , well is there anything I should know about upgrading or is it as simple as it sounds?
Mouse Mage Sep 1, 2016 @ 5:04am
O boi. There are several ways to upgrade your weapon. What way to upgrade depends on what your skills are. If you click on your skills, the icons either say % or fixed, sometimes they have both, in the same attack.

For percent damage, there is reinforcement, which can be done at Kiri. When you reinforce your weapon, you get more piercing attack, which is usually just more damage. The problem is that you can fail to reinforce, which from +4-+6 sends you down one level; at +7-+9, it sends you back 3. If you try to reinforce past +10, your weapon will be destroyed if you fail and don't have a weapon protection ticket in your inventory.

For fixed damage, you have the refining system, which can be done at Jun. Refining for Sword Master is mainly only for bludgeon, as every other weapon is 95% percent damage. Jun only asks for powerful energies, and the only downside to failing is that you need more energies.

Finally, for the true end game stuff, you have amplification. Basically reinforcement but also gives str/vit/int/spr. It's expensive and WAY more unforgiving than kiri. If you see gear that has red text on it, that means you need a purification scroll, from klonter or auction house, and the gear will give one of the four stats. It's expensive and you shouldn't even bother purifying if it's a pink. If you do purify, you can't reinforce the gear, only amplify at klonter.

regardless of if you reinforce or amplify a weapon, you can refine it.

You can reinforce and refine once you get a halidom weapon, but don't waste a protection ticket on anything less than a legendary, (so basically a liberation weapon or epic).
