Dark Knight Combos
I've been away a long time, and all the stuff I can find are ancient (or just simply don't exist). Does anyone have any current, up-to-date guide or material for Dark Knight combos?

I'm sure that would be what I'm looking-for. If I spoke Korean. Which I do not. =-\

I miss when people wrote text guides. So mcuh easier to find exactly what you're looking for thatn fishing through a whole video. Especially after you've read it and you just want to reference one specific thing. :sighs:

u could just skip to where he goes over his skill tree
and maybe his talismans
and I mean it is not "hard" it is basically pressing

a a a a q
s s s s s w
d d d e
and maybe a twist here
a a a q
or a f f f f into an r to spice things up a little
or maybe some crazy stuff like s s d g q a a a a r who knows

gear is all that matters for damage so as long as you have his more heavy hitting skills to activate when at max combo ull do just fine
even that does not actually matter
and in a group setting ur sperging out mashing buttons anyway on a dk so as long as ur not depressingly bad at pressing buttons after each other ull do just fine lol

only in pvp you have to basically know wtf ur pressing pve is just blanka electrics

jk
but what kind of guide could you possibly want? he is a pretty stright forward character

all important bosses are basically just unmovable rocks that get periods of damage windows on them when it is time to mash out the heavy hits
and ur most likely having some moves u prefer that u use on trash aso on on one or 2 keys

it does not matter and it is better that u choose that urself that copying a guide that tells u exactly what skills to use and in what combination when it comes to trash/named/bosses

wutever combos dk uses hardly matters really outside of a few tidbits like using dark ball into dark flame sword because its small range can be rectify by the hitstun of darkball and to not use vein slash and dark lust in combos because you cant continue off of them if their grabs doesnt land and there is a lot of enemies those 2 skills doesnt work on on top of their own incredibility small range
all dk eventually want dark wave fall and charge explosion talismans in the end which makes them his BnB skill because on top of making them his best skills they turn the former into an auto-target homing skill and the latter becomes practically screen-wide in range so they're brainded easy to actually use and renders the combination of skills leading up to them pointless

anyone who bothers with dk is gonna need to eventually spend some hours making up their own combos anyway because of the fact that hes the ultimate DIY class which so trying to copy someone else's combos builds can feel really off, unless you're a dk pro that knows all his ins-and-outs copying someone else's combos doesnt mean you can use it anywhere as effective as the the person your copying from

I don't typically carbon copy stuff from guides, I use them as a nice jumping-off point.

Primarily, it would be handy to know is which moves link well with each other.

Like there's at least one move that seems to causes knock down, it's not good to use with stuff that can't hit grounded enemies.

Lost of moves have movement, it would be nice to have a resource explaining which moves with knock back set you up for the movement skills. That kind of thing. You know, the basic combo information you'd get in any fighting game character guide... But I guess that's too much to ask these days. Oh well.

not too much to ask but it actually doesnt matter

because of how he works you just need to have all combos end on either dark flame sword, illusion slash, wave spin, dark break, phantom sword, dark wave fall, charge explosion and dark burst of which with the exception of dark flame sword; all of these can easily hit low height enemies or enemies laying on ground and even in the case of dark flame sword it'd take a really small enemy to not be able to get all hit in

basically every skill starting and proceeding from the 6th row from the top or all skill starting from lvl 45 and higher except for momentary slash, if you want a visual of which skills exactly on the skill tree page then here http://prntscr.com/uimd8p

most enemies now also either have super armor or is incapable of being knocked down too (if even if they're knock down their general size still makes it so they can still be hit by everything) so whether you can knock them down is again, doesnt matter

not sure when you've last played but with how much faster the game has gotten over the years, dk now cycles through skills in his combos fast enough that he doesnt actually even finishes most of their animation before proceeding to the next skill so whichever skill can link nicely to another is again . . . doesnt matter
watch the vid jojostar linked; the dk in it cycles through his skills so fast you cant even tell which skill is proceeding or preceding another without having to constantly pause the vid to look at his hotkeys

im sorry if i sound antagonistic or like a jaded broken record here and even im getting tired of saying this but it really doesnt matter . . . what skill has small hitboxes, knocks down or what his combos is specifically, as long as they end on a 45 skills or higher lvl skill with skill 1-4 in a combo being low cd skills to lower the total cd of the whole combo so he can keep throwing out his higher lvl skills without much or as little delay as possible
IT
DOESNT
MATTER

the only time something like knockdown and skill order still matter is either in combo preference/personalization which is subjective to the individual player piloting him or pvp, however the last one is a whole other can of worms
this is what i mean by him being the ultimate DIY class, you can have a guide and all telling you which skill does actually chain nicely together but ultimately this is just a bit of min-maxing that doesnt matter that much in the bigger picture and probably better leaned from experiencing by playing him yourself then a guide

in the end, yea i know that this ignores a lot of the nuance of his skills and their uniqueness but its pretty much what dk boils down to these days; defined by how many times he can use his combo finishers so its not surprise why his population is so low as if it isnt the high learning curve then its the repetitive simplicity of it
