Vanguard is alot more fun to play than the skirmisher
Vanguard have big AoEs and is a heavy hitter
you will not have much trouble playing the vanguard...i dont think i even had to use any form of healing potion until i was level80 plus
IMO of course
dark lancer/impaler and vanguard would be the ones with the most aoe so would hav a faster time lvling
I just started the Dragoon and he is level 60. Really fun to play.
The game does not start throwing punches at you untill you hit that 80 range. and even then its not too hard
But then Vanguard has epic reach and enormusly powerful blows, along with lots of super armor.
So the new Dragoon lancy guy (name escapes me this second) I tried out has suprizing amounts of ranged attacks, holds and reach... but not as much as Vanguard in terms of Z axis. the spirit spears reload so fast I can't manage to run out, which is neat. (got to about 40-45 or so)
The 'most definitly not dark damage berserker' lancer I haven't tried yet. But it looks like lots of throwing, ranged and holding. not sure how that'll work out. Suppose it depends on the cooldowns.
so he is Gilgamesh from Fate?
I LIKE IT
Vanguard feels like Lu Bu(or Guan Yu) (their dynasty warriors versions)
so...who are the other 2 lancers based on? lol
Dragoon does kinda pull off Gilgamesh's trick, but there's a lot less ranged then you'd think. (though at the rate the spears recover you spam that like crazy.)
Vanguard is very much Guan Yu/Lu Bu, I agree.
Once I have that charicter slot to try out Impaler with, I'll toss out my impressions on that. (give it a day or two from now.)
Lots of stuff that's reminancent of other stuff hanging around in DFO. The Shinobi is basically 'welcome to Naruto' for example. The Ranger's have bits of equilibrum to them, Nen is not quite DBZ, Striker has the worlds strongest low kick as an awakening IIRC. All kinds of fun.
I cant force myself past the express train
for 3 days now my poor dragoon have been lvl 75 . . .
when it is more fun grandine farming than it is to level a character to 90
something is not right
im willing to pink him up again after 2nd awakening but until then and if still not quite right then hes going to the bck of the shelf, in the meantime ima start dragoon when i get home
Ah well the awakening will eventually get released in an update and event so i won't worry too much on that.
Thus far he is super fun to me and is a refreshing skill machinegun compared to the slow monster that is the vanguard, who was my first level 89 character mind you. I do notice that the impaler relies on mutli hit over big bang attacks, so his first awakening isnt 1 shotting things like the vanguards was, however its utility involving hte black plasma encroachment is amazing.
Impaler is also great to party with because ANYTHING he infects with encroachment(the black fog cloud) causes that target to take 25% more damage from all sources, including allies and his holds when executed properly allow slower big bang characters like vanguard or mage to just nuke a whole room's worth of badies without them running around willy nilly.
