if u play all the way bck when nexon still had dfo during the 70 cap u cap u can forget everything from it and treat the current dfo as a completely new game, too much changes, rework/rebalances, system improvement/upgrades and overhauls to list out and anything u retain from even nx/cera items to info holds 0 weight now
nothing afaik of, just buttering up the player to make them feel better about killing something so hard it turns into bloody chunks of meat
it comes from from the completion of the scenario/storyline/epic quest, basically quest exp, thats not to say that hunting exp gained from killing mobs, bosses and dungeon clear doesnt mean anything, it just pales in comparison to the exp u get from the storyline quest
bonus stats and hunting exp boost, its also a community to interact with as its recommended for newbies to join a guild to help guide them through the game and depending on the guild members they may even offer free carries through certain content if not a scheduled guild runs through community content
press esc, click the yellow guild icon/button and just apply to a random guild, if ur looking for a specific guild u can type 1 in and apply to it
most people recruit guilds on reddit or nexus, recruiting in game is typically done by randomly inviting newbies in at the starting area or just strolling through towns looking for guildless characters but this is typically done by newer guilds simply looking for anyone to join rather then any substantial guilds
click the cogwheel, should be the [play mode] options or the plus sign in the chat tabs and if ur on window mode u can set it to external chat if u havnt already or which separates it to 3 different chats and fiddle around with it there or u can just ignore a specific chat from there
depends on the class, end game isnt determine by the class but rather their burst capabilities, roles and gear, in other word; being summoning type classes is completely irrelevant to this sort of question though thats not to say certain classes's innate capabilities is irrelevant as supports and utility classes hav mor leeway into end game over pure dmg dealers but this mainly just affects their roles in the party as the right supportative gear can turn a pure dmg dealer into a very good supporter but ofc would be better on a support class as this would further facilitate and boost their capabilities in the supporting/utility role
for the record not many people know wut summoner is actually capable of outside of godly dps but mediocre burst, mech is consider a very good dmg dealer but lacks support/utility, chaos is known to be very weird and has a gimmicky playstyle which results in her having a low playerbase but still very powerful if played right, shes also getting a renewal in a future patch too which makes her mor cohesive and necro is generally consider to also be a very powerful class if played right like chaos but lingering bad stigma prevents her playerbase from increasing along with also having a playstyle that is a hit or miss among players
depends on the titles, in most cases stats outside of elem dmg doesnt mean much as depending on the class, gear and party members ur stats tend to get inflated to an absurd amount so the small stat boost u would get from a title ends up being a drop in an ocean so people tend to want titles tht give less diminishing returns
depends on the content, as when lvling most of the exp comes from the quest completion itself ur just wasting fp for a minor gain, if u hav lower fp then it w
ould take u to clear the dungeon then just do the whole thing or for special dungeons that take its fp cost at start and takes no mor after that, also do the whole thing since u already payed the cost for the whole thing already
should affect all spds but this also depends on a classes armor mastery
again this depends on the class but this is only speaking in regards to armor in general, lvl 90 epic armor sets r in a whole different class of their own and r strong enough to render any advantages or disadvantages of the right or wrong armor type moot for the most part
no puppets remain pointless, professions in general r considered a relic of the past now and r only marginally still useful, lvling in general has been streamline to be easy as hell and compare to nexon lvling to lvl cap isnt the be all and end all anymor, if anything simply just reaching lvl cap is where the game actually starts and anywhere lvl 1-89 that isnt anton raid or tower content is consider an extended tutorial
i believe so but im unsure as there really isnt any point in it
when its not dropping from anywhere considered: normal, as in everywhere that isnt raid, ancients, ov (marginally useful), rifts or echon
elaborate wut u mean by "equipment card"
only people playing through steam r which is a minuscule percentage of the population, no one knows y specifically but there r possible reasons, neople in general rarely address anything regarding steam anyway so until they actually say anything regarding the lack management of steam and its massive amounts of restriction/requirement no one can give u a straight answer
I certainly played during the Nexon era, and I specifically remember levelling taking much, much longer. I vaguely remember a time where you had unlimited FP or something, perhaps on weekends. The gear I had on anything level 30 and below was pretty bad, so I just deleted those characters and restarted. They also didn't have the 'appropriate' weapons (ie the hand cannon for launcher), but I am glad you automatically get your classes weapon during the new quests.
So if burst (not DPS) is 'king' in DFO, and the F Mage Summoner does ungodly DPS, does that make it... not so good, in late game?
What is this lingering stigma that the Necromancer has?
For the armor types (Cloth, Leather, Light, Heavy, and Plate) I meant the actual armor stats themselves, and in no way do I mean the armor mastery bonus. IE Cloth armor gives less phys defense than Plate, by default. Does this end up provided a large reduction in damage taken, or is it going to be a small difference between the two? If the difference isn't very large, then I can't see why Heavy is better than Cloth, regardless of the mastery (which is obviously important for stats and such).
So why are puppets useless in late game if damage dealing is most important? Is it because puppets do not scale (ie increase in damage/HP/etc) as the player levels up? I'm pretty sure some of the puppets provide a bit of support, at the least, or they did the last I checked.
By 'equipment card' I mean when you complete a dungeon you are rewarded a free card that flips over. In addition you can buy a card, which reveals equipment and/or creature artifacts. Is there some specific point in buying the extra card (at the bottom)? And do these cards (at the bottom) ever become usable/good equipment that you'd want to equip?
An additional question I did not ask: I see this Explorer Club thing when I log in, as well as a buff on my characters. Where can I see how much the buff provides, and how do I level it up? (other than merely 'playing')
And another: I see the 'Throwing Mastery' thing in the skill trees. What is this? I haven't seen any classes that throw their weapons, nor have I ran across any usable throwing items (not that I have looked for them). Is this useful for certain classes and not others?
1) What does Overkill do/provide? Does it grant extra EXP?
No, overkilling does not provide any extra or anything
2) I've heard most of the EXP comes from clearing dungeons, and very little comes from killing monsters. Is that true?
This used to be true during Nexon times where you'd have to grind dungeons repeatedly. Now all you do is keep questing to 90 in a WoW fashion by following your Epic Quest Line
3) What benefits do you get from joining a guild, other than a group of people you can chat with?
You get access to a Guild Dungeon, Bonus EXP, Bonus Stats. The guild dungeon lets you buy additional equipment (Insignas) and helps you farm Demon Invitations for Hell mode
3.5) How do I find (and join) a guild? I never see anyone recruiting in the chats (just buying and selling).
I have a guild if you want to join, I recently created it. Otherwise check ingame, discords and reddit
4) Is there a way to completely hide the chat? (Especially when in combat/dungeons)
Run in windowed mode, click the cogwheel close to the chat, put it on the side left/right
5) How useful/needed/wanted are minion masters (summoner, mechanic, chaos knight, necromancer, etc) in late game?
Generally Summoners are the one that summon minions, they tend to go solo
6) Didn't titles provide stats before? Am I missing something?
They do and still did, its just that they revamped the Title System. Mouse-over the image icon
7) Should I always try and rush straight to the boss room, or clear out every room?
While leveling yes, make sure you complete you quest while doing it
8) Does armor type affect attacking speed as well as movement, or does it only affect movement speed?
It affects different stats depending on Armor Mastery
9) How much of a difference does, say, Cloth Armor make VS Plate Armor?
Plate users usually receive less damage from enemies
10) Levels 1-70 seem to be a breeze, and at first I thought I'd love doing Animation/Puppets, but the dungeons are already so quick and easy, puppets seem pointless. Do puppets become important late game?
No, they aren't used for much. I'd recommend you become a dissassembler as your first profession until you get a better idea on what professions do
10.5) Can each party member summon their own puppet?
Yes each party member can summon one
11) When do gear drops stop being useless? The 'Epic' quests automatically give better gear than what drops.
Quest drops usually stay useless, at level 70 you grind Oververse for Chronicles and at level 85 Ancient Dungeons for Legendaries
12) What is the point of buying the equipment card, especially when there is no x2 event? Is it to disassembler/profession?
What do you mean by equipment card?
13) Why are so many people struggling to buy CERA?
Some people had issues linking their Steam account to purchase CERA otherwise I don't seem to have issues

not exactly, her burst is mediocre but that doesnt mean its inapplicable, infact no class is inapplicable, it just depends on how bad stigmatized they r but at where she stands she does require a higher gear threshold compare to other classes to be able to be at the same lvls in terms of burst but as i said before it depends on their stigma and summoner's stigma of having little to no burst and no utility isnt helping her case which is not only untrue but this also makes it so that most players dont really hav any idea wut shes capable of and likely wont accept a summoner into community base end game content without being beyond the general min gear requirements
earlier this year lr released a new end game content called the beast 666 where dps reigned supreme over burst to the point that even abusing as much cd resetting/reduction gear as possible didnt push things in burst's favor, problem was that this wasnt wut the devs intended and recently not only just announced that the beast would be tweaked to be mor burst oriented but they also went and nerfed most dps capabilities and classes that were excelling at the best due to dps which includes summoner but they also buffed their burst capabilities too so summoner should be seeing better results here in about half a year
general unpopular playstyle and not really knowing how to play her made people bill her as an incomplete summoner or a class that doesnt fully commit to either being a caster or a summoner so feels boring, awkward or any other negative words u can use to describe her, she also had a rather extreme buff swapping requirement which was needed to fix her low dmg output and was considered to hav a very high mp consumption rate, only the former is subjective but the latter 2 arent true anymor and shes actually 1 of the stronger classes in the game but this doesnt stop people from avoiding her
its not really plausible to compare armor types in a vacuum as there is too many variables to consider and they all affect different classes differently, for example cloth has higher raw stats for magic classes at the cost of no phy oriented stats and lowest def, things like plate has mor def and a better balance of phy and magic stats and even stats like vit which is important to 1 class but at the cost of spd, something like light and leather armor has better balance of all 3 def, phy and magic stats
strictly speaking for dmg u want the armor that gives the most dmg stats and in the end defense itself isnt really a huge factor unless it works well with the class, using these classes as an example; creator, asura and dark templar hav plate armor mastery but average to low def and hp innately so while plate does make them mor tanky its only making up for their general lack of or average tank while classes like sader, exo and lightbringer r way mor tanky due to their innate high hp and def
u will also never find urself in a situation where armor types in a vacuum would be something to consider as epic sets supersede anything specific that the type has to offer and all legendary sets allows u to choose the type anyway
they dont deal enough dmg as in they deal not even 1/10^10000 of the dmg a player can do generally and in a shorter time frame, they're also very inconsistent, uncontrollable, unreliable and no support outside of limited and with an expiration date event specific puppets like the hero-r puppet given out when requiem time gate was implemented
the dungeon clear, bottom, end/gold card, reward flip is pointless in most cases but in pandemonium dungeons instead of a random gear they give 1 or a few number of something called terranium, terraniums is needed for certain content, drop at the end of pandemonium dungeons and the cost of getting even just 1 from end card flip is generally better then buying it directly so sometimes people just do the flip there but no where else
equipement wise no there r hardly ever useful and isnt worth it
thers a circle at the upper right of ur mp orb of a red flag draped over it with a number and the words explorer on it, click that or press ESC to open the menu and then click the explorer icon which looks is also a red flag but with no number
this opens ur explorer club, at the top there is 5 tabs and the 2nd tab labeled attributes, this is where u see wut bonus explorer clubs lvls gives and the bottom half list u accumulative bonus from every lvl
it use to be useful very early on as in bck in around the beginning of nexon's era (yes it exist bck then too), now its just a relic of a past era, no real point it in anymor
however putting any lvl into the skill and throwing a throwing weapon item u can buy from the elf tht owns the tavern/bar in the back alley actually makes using the throwing item count as a skill usage which is useful for procing certain gear effects when spammed but neople patched this out recently in kr so just ignore it
if u hav any mor question it may just be easier to try and message me directly, my main's ign is YukiFubuki, send me a mail ingame and ill tell u my discord tag
