steam's stats is meaningless
I wouldn't worry
All in all, just play the game and see fo yourself. DFO has been around for a loooongg time
(since Nexon days) and I'm sure there are many people playing the game, on the plus side, DFO has events quite frequently which can kick the player numbers into overdrive because the events are often very rewarding.
steamcharts shows the player count generally anywhere from 500-1k players at any time but neople's own stats show a few hundred thousands in total for its lifespan yearly, anyone that made it to end game can tell that neople's stats is the accurate 1
Far as population goes, I see lots of channels busy and a lot of people around the end game places. Hard to see people leveling since you can hop into any channel at will.
The DFO client is steam friendly, I have no problems using it at all with steam.
That's crazy, I wish we had game so popular like that in west, I mean like DFO.
The issue with DFO Steam is that you can't use your existing account so most people stick with using the direct launcher since they don't want to start over. So those 800 or so concurrent players you see are more than likely new players that got into the game.
