Best profession(s)?
So I have 3 characters and they're all under level 30. What do you all think ideal professions are? My 3 character classes are Summoner, M. Grappler, and Asura (not sure if this matters).

I've heard alchemy is great, but is there any point to having 2 of my characters having the same profession?

Thanks a lot in advance! :]

They are all mostly bad. You usually spend a lot levelling it to max, and it takes quite a while to begin making even the smallest of profits. If you have to, I'd recommend having at least one alchemist and one enchanter, but it is definitely not necessary.

I picked dissembling on one character for convenience sake (even though you have to pay some gold to repair it at npc and it counts down durability when you use it) but it doesn't take any mats or anything else though (just right click on character/profession to use), if it's a high level you get more cubes from it than the npc one.
But I'm not really sure it's worth it, though.

All the other professions seem to take lots of materials or gold to make stuff, so I have the same dilemma.

I have one character with each profession, but only alchemy and disassembler maxed so far.

Alchemy can be handy for crafting your own potions, but the recipes are a bit pricey, and in most cases you might as well buy potions from the AH. Sometimes it is possible to make money by purchasing materials from the AH and selling potions you craft. You also get a decent daily quest that gives some materials of your choice.

Disassembly can save you some money in the long run, instead of using other players' ones, but it also costs a lot of money to repair and upgrade it. When you've maxed it though, you can make some money (while afk) by setting it up for other players to use.

Enchanting is something I mainly use for crafting beads (from cards) for my other characters to use. I guess you could make some money by setting up shop, but it's not always everyone needs enchanting, so the disassembler is much more reliable for this.

Animator I haven't really focused on yet, so I can't say much about them. You can craft your own APCs I guess, and also set up personal shops to sell items (requires an item you can craft).

Whichever profession(s) you choose, it's not really possible to get that much out of them right away, and they tend to cost a lot more money than you can make off them, but in the long run they can all be useful.

After about 1k hours I have a dissassembler at lvl 9, my main character that I play the most. To save gold in the long run (players ask about 500 gold for lvl 11 dissassembly), I've probably spent more on repairing and upgrading though as it is, then if I just paid other players.

And a level 9 animator (because I like the puppets so much).

I don't feel like I've missed out on anything. Tons of potions, not hurting for gold or tokens or anything else.

I don't even have all the epic items enchanted on my main, I just use the beads I find. But I can still cruise through slayer hell modes without issue (after finding enough sweet items).

You could look at it like this -
by the time you actually have to utilize any professions, you'll be rich enough after playing so long that you can just afford to pay other players for their profession services.

So really, none of the professions are "worth it" in my opinion.

That's not even including the extra time of your life invested into them as well.
