I fixed it by unistalling on steam and deleting the game folder in computer/programs etc and then reinstalled it :)

Inorder to fix this Delete the folder of dfo in the C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\DFO. Then uninstall and reinstall.

Verify the files, if anyone's still here

I know this is a really old thread, but i found it when googling the same error, so others might well come by here. I've been trying to resolve it for ages and have tried everything posted i could find, Neople support have been pretty quick and polite to be fair, but not much help.

anyway, i managed to resolve this by only deleting a few files (not the whole install)

first I removed the file the launcher was stuck on from the DFO/ImacgePacks2,
I then also had to remove the file it previously downloaded (order files by date modified 'v' to make this easier). - this step weirdly seems critical, as just deleting the stuck file didn't work for me.

next i removed the localpackage.lst, package.lst and patch.trc files from the main DFO folder

when i ran the launcher it scanned my files then redownloaded the second file i deleted, followed by the first (that it was previously stuck on) and then a bunch more, it did get stuck again, but restarting the launcher seemed to get it going.

Hopefully this helps someone.

I've done some more testing, and thought i would pass on some observations.
The files that i was getting stuck on were all larger than around 60 or 70 MB anything smaller didn't seem to ever get stuck.

I tried connecting my phone to use my faster (albiet limited) data connection and it seemed to download the larger files ok.

So it could be:
*my ISP or router (but i have no issues downloading other large files over http or ftp or other transfer methods). Most people can't do anything about these anyway, so it would still be good to find a workaround if this is the issue.

*a timeout (where my slower ADSL connection isn't downloading the file in enough time, and the connection drops and can't start back up), my guess is that successfully downloading a smaller file first keeps the connection alive as long as possible for the next file.

Hi there,
hopefully i can clarify a bit, the launcher got stuck on a file, but removing that file and restarting didn't seem to fix it, but by also removing whatever file the launcher had downloaded just before the one it was stuck on, it seem to kick it in to action.
the easiest way to do this is to open the patch download folder (where the launcher is saving the files) and order them by date descending, the file it got stuck on should be at the top, and the previous file should be the one below.

good luck getting it to work!
