Why does battle mage suck so much

She doesn't suck but might be difficult for a new player to start out on. If you're new I'd recommend you try Chaos, Witch, or an Asura to start. Battle Mages can be very strong when played correctly but takes some time (and levels) for them to shine.

well shes a mage, wut'd u expect, tankiness of a priest? mages in general hav low hp and def, the defensive skills dont help in the way much and only serves to makes it so an atk that mayve 1 shotted her leaves her with a few % hp left, if anything a witch is mor tankier purely for the fact that her machines makes her immune to disabling status effects and give witch a 60-80% dmg reduction while riding them

also wut lvl and where is ur bm at? bm is consider 1 of the highest dmg dealers because of her nukes but her other skills usually lack the range to deal with most stuff property, my guess is ur playing her incorrectly or something

Currently level 38. I use a few skills to build up chasers and then try to nuke things. I hit something and then dash away to assess the situation. I also understand that she's not meant to be a tank, but it's kind of ridiculous when a dwarf miner two-shots her. Though my game does bug out sometimes, she just isn't measuring up. That's why I'm confused.

u use mana shield? wearing rare/purple leather armor her lvl?

bm's nukes comes from rend, dance, dragon, quasar and maybe ulti punto, especially rend and quasar as these 2 r her strongest skill, everything else can be consider filler dmg except the chasers, until u get to a really high lvl (lowest is dragon strike/rampage which is 45) u hav pretty much very little aoe and dmg in general, even chaser press does questionable dmg

I'm using mana shield and have appropriate armor on her yes. The game frequently disregards the fact that I attack or use skills. When fighting an enemy, I often find that I hit an enemy, but nothing happened to them. I use Punto Wave and enemies walk right through it.

punto has a really small hitbox, ulti punto however is a better range

battle mage is actual very strong late game but has a high player skill cap (you need to know what you are doing). the class really shinys with +skill gear and elemental damage modifers you also need decent attack speed and movment. Battle mage is not ment to stay in place and trade blows you should play like hit and run comber doing a few skill chain combos and then moving around for you skill cd. battle mage is no stronger than most upper middle tier classes its just that it very playerskill and knowledge intensive take the time to know how to use her holds/super armor and i frames which makes said class very good. Know how to take on the mobs you fight as alot of late game content like raids have boss menchaincs that 1 shot if you try to just run dps out the gate. hope this helps

That does in fact help. I've been using the hit and run tactics, I'm just not that high of a level yet (43 currently). I really appreciate the advice. Thank you very much :)

dunno how dat can be a problem. Started with bm as my wery 1st char from the start and while trying really lot of other classes bm was most easy and fun to play with. Cant see how she can suck in any ways.

If you're new to DFO, you can try some easier classes like Asura, Dark Templar (female version of Asura), male and female Launchers, Swift Master, and Witch. All of them are suitable for hit&run tactics. Kunoichi is also good if you want a little more challenging gameplay.

f slayer's subs only hav minor similarities or concept with m slayer's subclasses like berserker and demon slayer penchant for being mad, 1 raging mad the other laughing mad, vagabond is the 1 that has similarities with asura due to using her kit being energy base atks and even then thats all they hav in common, people find dark templer mor similar to soul benders because of the whole dark magic theme and their skills aesthetic is mor occult then anything physical

f and m classes unless its fighters, gunners or crusader arent opposite gender version of each other unless done so specifically and even with crusaders they were designed to be the opposite in actualization of their take on the subclass

I was just putting it in an easy-understanding way. Not from skill-wise, only from preview of stats.

Yes I know that those 2 classes are not alike. Male launcher and female launcher share some skills but they're different, male mechanic and female mechanic are really different if you're talking about late-game skills. Developers aren't stupid enough to just reskin a class and call it a new one, so ain't I.
