audio???
Could anybody confirm that they actually in all seriousness released the floppy version of GK without audio when on GOG there's a CD one?

Why do you think so? I'm 99,99% sure, that steam release identical to gog.

because I looked at 'languages' tab, and there's no tick against full audio. however, I later looked at the second one, and there it's the same, so guess they just weren't bothered to arrange it properly

true, but it apparently requires 700mb of space which seems an awful lot for just text...

on gog it says Size:368 MB but steam says Storage: 700 MB available space also gog version does have audio in english only not sure about Steam

I can happily confirm the presence of Tim Curry. Original voice-acting and sound-effects are intact.

Rather hilariously, it IS the GOG release, with the GOG-specific files clumsily removed.

The disc image for the CD is still called "GK1.GOG"!!!

The Steam installation takes up 653Mb. So...700Mb is just rounded up....Maybe the 368Mb from GOG is the compressed archive size?

That is quite common for old releses.
GOG makes the game sale ready and gets a period of exclusivitiy in return.

Probly the easeast way for gog to get ne licences.
They get timed exclusives for thier store (maybe even a highter %) and the rigthsholder can sell the stuff on Steam without any extra work.
