Is this abandonware?

It seems as though this software hasn't been updated in a long time (since 2022 by the looks of the updates section of the Steam page) despite not really functioning really well on newer devices. Most of the troubleshooting goes largely unaddressed, and a lot of the stuff gained from searching around is years old at this point. I feel like I bought a software that I can't properly use with no way of finding out why it's not working properly.

Hello! We've never gotten any kind of final farewell from the development team, but I'd say it's safe to assume there will be no further updates or support from the team. VNM is still listed on the RPG Maker site, but like you mentioned - we haven't had any updates in forever.

I can't imagine them working on this being very profitable anymore. The people who bought it, have done so. And they aren't making VN Maker 2.

To be fair, they did support the engine for a long time, even changing the source code to try to get it to be more stable.
