Visual Novel Maker

Visual Novel Maker

[How] is Visual Novel Maker ?
I plan to purchase Visual Novel Maker (from DEGICA) since I loved all RPG Maker series!

And, recently I land up on Linux, then, my Tyrano Builder Visual Novel isn't working on Linux, even with Steam Play/Proton...

So.. As I saw Visual Novel Maker list "Linux" in its supported operating systems, I ask how good is Visual Novel Maker since I want purchase it soon... or later !

It's easy to use. Doing most things will be pretty painless.

You can also consider trying Ren'Py, which runs on Linux, and is free and open-source.
But this engine requires more work to do things.

It is very good, but the release of the current stable version with a lot of improvements takes sadly ages. I will probably switch to Naninovel.

Ren'Py is just not great for making complex Visual Novels with merging Live2D as good ...
Thanks for the feedback, I search simplicity but extensibility with features I can create myself too !

This stuff seems really good, how it runs on Linux (natively) ?
This seems really also complex to features and extensible, which I need.

It run through Unity also as I can understand ?

Aniway, it seems expensive, but I want test a free demo on Linux before purchasing, the only Demo I see is a "compiled" Visual Novel... not a true demo which I can test myself..

Also, if you find that Visual Novel Maker is a pain in updates for stability, perhaps you may consider use that Visual Novel framework (free) for Godo Engine (free too): https://jebedaia.itch.io/rakugo

I also discovered a Visual Novel Character Creator here: https://ar14.itch.io/mannequin

That Unity Asset doesn't exactly look easy to use. I mean if you're going to use Unity, just use Ren'Py instead. Unity shouldn't be used to do something as basic as a VN.

You can also use RPG Maker to make a VN with some work arounds.

I'm not searching simplicity but features.

I mean, Unity isn't simple, I know, (aswell doing some funny things with RubyScript in past RPG Maker series, aswell Javascript (which I use frequently at my real work!), but if I ask how is Visual Novel Maker I would know many "how-features" works currently as expected, since I readed many post over that forum (not only in that discussion), telling me that.. this Software isn't so stable as it would be.

For instance, I love RPG Maker series, and in past years, I already do a Visual Novel in it, that's a great idea, I didn't remember that.
But, it took me very a long time to making it portable over many other future versions of RPG Maker series..

That was a pain to convert from RM2K9 to VX ACE per exemple..

But, you know what, I did not tested if RPG Maker VX Ace or MV works on my Linux...
Perhaps I can throw a test or two to it.

In the meantime I currently test an another way, more reliable (since I know it works since I tested): Rakugo Framework (which is a Visual Novel Framework) for Godot Engine (here on Steam for free and working flawlessly on my Linux !)

I also have many other great products issued from my Windows Life such as: Tyrano Builder Visual Novel, Clickteam Fusion 2.5, Game Maker 1.4 PRO, Game Maker Studio 2 PRO, well, aswell as I have Construct 2 (but not Construct 3 since it's a pain to pay a subscribing fee when I do not use the product..)

I just need a great product for Visual Novel for my Linux, it's all I miss only !

RPG Maker MV is the only RPG Maker engine that works on multiple OS, including Linux.

I think that you can start Unity on Linux and Naninovel requires Unity like the Visual Novel Maker requires Steam and, judging from the tutorial videos, you need only basic programming experience to create your visual novel.
