You should use RPG Maker to do something like this.

I doesn't sound too common to make it intergrated into the software as other things, but I do think alot more can be done with a vn inventory system, you could make a ace attorney or danganronpa style game using th inventory to hold evidence or even use it to hold gifts for dating sims, the idea isn't extremely a common desire, but I agree that something like this is very viable.

I want to make it possible for the player to click around the screen to find items to use (kinda like Ace Attorney, yes).
If I can do that in VN Maker, it's a purchase for me~ :)

Not just AA, any investigation game would need some inventory system (along with a note system).

Sadly this mechanic isn't mainstream enough to be implemented into the software, I'm interested in the plugin featue though, maybe we might get a inventory and pixel hunt plugin free or part of dlc.
