Game Sound FIX for Disgaea 1 and 2 NO SOUND
so I did the Openal thing to fix the sound but that didn't work I even updated drivers is there a fix.. I really wanna play these games if anyone could help it's greatly appreciated

Edit: SOLVED on accident

Actually I fixed it on accident I had an older version of Open AL installed and didn't realize it won't overwrite it so im gonna leave this here incase someone else has the same problem

(Make sure to uninstall the old Open AL you have installed from an earlier date then restart your computer then install Open AL again from https://www.openal.org/downloads/oalinst.zip then sound should work)

Remember you must uninstall the old one before installing the new one then restart PC

Because for some reason when you install AL it doesn't install the new version so you gotta uninstall current AL first

What is "AL"? I'm having sound problems as well for disgaea 2 pc. The stage clear tune is so faint it's barely noticable, the only fix is to never have touched the sound menu, because it works fine in a new game.

Al is a sound driver you simply uninstall it and restart your pc then install it again

so what i just go to system32 and delete it im not messing around with system32 its not worth the risk disgaea is the only game on steam with this issue its an awful pc port

I don't think you read what I said at all you literally just uninstall the AL sound driver from installed apps and install the new one I have no idea where you got system32 from
