Mentor specialist: extremely rare or is my luck bad?

In 70+ hours of playing, I've only gotten one Mentor specialist. The only other ones that are close to that rare for me are Mediators (I've gotten three), and Teacher (gotten six). Is there some trick to finding Mentors, like the way that certain glove weapons almost always have Managers?

Hunt them on Heroic Guns.

Early on, Cross Counters (Fist) are a decent source for them, but later Heroic Guns (as Z3n mentioned) and Seraphic Bows are better.

Not only Mentors, but certain equips always have some specialists on them. It might be worth your time checking this site to check for a few of them:

I think it only covers weapons and armor (regarding guaranteed specialists), not all items, but it's still good info.

Keep in mind that some might not be the best option for farming purposes. For example, Cryophiles and Aeronauts are guaranteed to appear on some armours, but their rank is so low that it's more efficient to keep resetting the shop for them to randomly appear on higher ranking items.
