If you collect 16 (don't sell any!) something good will happen... :)

Equip them to your characters before heading into the Item World to increase your chances of getting more.

You cant get more then 1 of each type, they dont spawn if you already have that type, so yes, 16 different types and something fancy happens.

If I remember correctly, you cannot get a map that you already have again.

EDIT: What ZirzoR said. :P

Plus they are a great possible level up otpion through item world if you save, then go in and out until you find a level with invincibility panels (preferably more than 2 colours, definitely more than one, especially if it covers the whole level) then just bring out whatever character you want to level, and just spam attack/spells till the enemy dies, rinse/repeat :steammocking:

Personally, I find the treasure maps specialists to be kinda hit or miss ( im assuming its random as to what specialists they get) Some will have multiple stat based ones and others will have one miscellaneous one (armsmaster, cryophile, etc) which makes it pointless to equip since treasure maps dont have innate stat boosts.

Don't underestimate the sheer amount of stat boost innocents even super low level maps get. They can be pretty viable early on if you get a good one!

I was more meaning the less useful ones (brokers, cryophiles, firefighters, etc are less useful than stat bonus innocents, imho)

In terms of item worlding them, ive discovered that reverse damage can be just as, if not more, useful as invincibility. Simply put your characters on reverse damage tiles, and, apart from a few enemies that will heal kill you (but just throw em onto a higher level enemy and away goes the risk) you can either whack the crap out of them, or, my favourite option, combine all the enemies into one, trap it on a reverse damage tile and spam heal. :steammocking::steamhappy:

At least you can transfer hte innocents off the Treasure Maps, once you go through them.

It's been ahile since I played this game, but I'm pretty sure they do give you something nice indeed, if a bit full of Carnage. :)

Okay as someone who hasn't played this in years what level should I be before I start looking for the maps since I'm on Chapter 5 and about to hit level 100 soon.

Level 100 should be enough for most low level pirates. But some of the later ones would prove a bit hard even at level 100.

Currently, I wouldn't worry about it at all, and go through item worlds normally, you'll get the pirates to troll you enough without searching for them, at least that's been my experience.

Uhh. Those Cryophiles, Firefighters, and other elemental ones are INCREDIBLY useful. A character's resistances are also figured into how effective they are with using a given spell element. Not to mention it means that mages in the item world won't be smacking you over the head from a half mile away for a quarter million damage when you are poking around the deep end of a QL40.

Ya you unlock land of carnage although it's hard lol was for me at least lvl 9999 pirates aha
davidb11 Feb 2, 2017 @ 3:39pm
I don't think I've ever seen a Cryophile/etc with a level higher than 4 on any item in any Disgaea game. They're a pain to collect.

That includes a lot of Rank 30 gear. Whatever the highest in the shop is.
