you can use a keyboard... you can set command in the main menu (when u can choose between start and load)

but if you can and have i woud prefer a Controller. I'm my self a Person how allways plays with Keyboard and mouse (even Games like Dark Souls) but in Fighting Games like this a Controller is the bether choice. You can play with any Controller i think, but the only Problem is the Game only shows XBox Buttons.

Yeah. Tried to play with keyboard and closed the game after 2 minutes. Seems impossible to play like that.
