What does "Land 3 extra hits on a downed enemy" mean?

I was assuming that it means when you have an enemy down lying on the floor, you hit them 3 times before they get back up. So I just threw 3 kuni knife thingies at them and then beat the battle but I still failed the 3 extra hits on downed enemy. Help?

a hit on a downed enemy means that when u knock them down on the ground u go next to them and press B or circle, u can only do one hit when he gets knocked down, so u have to the do the whole thing three times. u can knock him by a jutsu or maybe down combo
