Substitution Jutsu nigh impossible to use and CPU abuses it...

What the actual @#$%? How the hell do you even use it properly? I'm hitting the right trigger just before the attacks hit and NOTHING happens... but I attack and they do it nearly 100% of the time... wtf...

It's not like it in 3 and 4. You should hit the trigger THEN enemy attack, not before. Besides, what did you expect from npc? Of cause they can do it ofen, they have a power of probability given by computer :)

It's just not exactly fun when you can only do it one time out of 100. There's no way to fight back. The only reason I'm plaything through 1, is to go through 2, 3, Revolution and 4. Dirt Cheap on sale.

haha. Just try to predict a moment of enemy's hit (or hit the triggers like crazy, maybe it'll work).

I have to admit that it feels like there is a chance for substitution, around 2/5.

Spam the block button and you'll become a substitution master.

I know this is a late reply, but for anyone else coming late to the board... I heard elsewhere that non-block actions 'reset' substitutions internal CD. I haven't been able to confirm it yet, but it might be worth mixing in jump/strike buttons if you're going with the spam strategy.

I agree that the computer is too good at it, but removing it or limiting them too much would mean all you had to do was be hyper aggressive.
