MM11 was nice, but I find the stages way too long, which is why I don't bother too much with it. If they would have cut back on the stages' length, I would have enjoyed it much more. Didn't hate it though, it definitely was fun too.
10 was pretty good though.
And when you complain about that to other MegaMan fans they'll say Megaman & Bass and the original Megaman are wayyy harder. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.
There's a ridiculous precise frame jump you need to do on Megaman 9 Wily Tower at an underwater part with some spikes beneath, it is so infuriating.
You have to hug the edge of a platform and press jump juuuust about enough or you'll overpress and get killed by upper spikes, or end up underpressing the button and get killed by the bottom spikes.
Regardless, we're on the minority. Most Megaman fans praise the high level difficulty and keeping it to NES era game design. To each their own.
So if you didn’t like 9, 10 will be better
I mean, of course there was a lot of frustration before I got the experience and skills to beat it consistently. But with this experience, I honestly think there is not one single moment where MM9 is genuinely unfair. MM has a history of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ fights and cheap moments, MM2 is actually a pretty bad offender here. I honestly think 9 shows some great restraint in that regard.
lol, I'm stuck on this exact section of MM9 right now, and I am not thrilled about it.
Nevertheless, I do really enjoy MM9 and MM10, having never played them til now. I grew up playing MM2 and MM3 so of course nothing will ever replace their charms, but I do find MM9 and MM10 to be the most interesting ones that I've played since then. (I find MM5 - MM8 to be incredibly bland and forgettable).
For me, a Mega Man game lives or dies by the originality of its Robot Masters and the quality of its soundtrack. With a few exceptions, I think the Robot Masters in MM9-MM10 are the most memorable since the glory days of Shadow Man and the rest (yes, there's a few of the inevitable space and water-themed retreads, but even the latter includes Pump Man who is incredibly goofy and has a unique look). The soundtrack for both games bangs.
The one thing I do dislike very much about MM9 are the unfair death traps, and I was initially thrown for a loop by the increased difficulty over previous MM games, but once I got used to it I found that it helped to refresh the overly-familiar MM formula.
As for the Wily levels -- no opinion, as they've always been my least-favorite part of any MM game and I rarely replay them.
