New reshade files to use smooth filtering in Mega man 9 and 10.
Just got this on sale, but noticed the infamous scaling problem in 9 and 10. It looks like the game is just using a nearest filter and drawing to a 1920x1080 framebuffer, no matter your set resolution.

I created a couple of reshade files to fix this.

MM9: https://pastebin.com/5iDtnfLY
MM10: https://pastebin.com/VE6SkJu0

*new files with ability to disable aspect correction*
MM9: https://pastebin.com/VBf5cd25
MM10: https://pastebin.com/sDCgdB3A

Follow the reshade instructions from Gamephreak5's guide: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1241596046

Then just insert these two files into the reshade-shaders/Shaders directory. You'll find BilinearMM9 and BilinearMM10 on the list of shaders to use.

These treat the image as 256x224 like it's supposed to be, and use the linear filter to smooth it out. They also set scale to a proper 4:3 aspect ratio instead of 8:7 in Mega Man 9 and 6:5 in Mega Man 10. This is similar behavior to the originals on PS3/Wii/Xbox.

*edited* Added an option to both files to allow a sharper bilinear filter, but still prevent improperly proportioned pixels.

*edit again*
Fixed the shaders so that they pass the optional borders through without filtering, and you can set the aspect ratio so it's uncorrected or not depending on game, while still fixing the pixel glitches.

Mega Man 9's borders are designed so that the game image is 4:3, which is what the shader corrects to (aspect87 option NOT checked).
Mega Man 10's borders are designed to fit a 6:5 image, which means using the aspect65 option in the BilinearMM10 shader.
Mega Man 7 borders are 8:7, so you have to use the BilinearMM9 shader with the aspect87 option if you want to see the entire border picture.

I love it when someone notices something wrong and ACTUALLY PROVIDES A SOLUTION. You sir are a gentleman and a scholar.

Ah, thanks for this solution! I was never fully satisifed with the results from my guide, but it was the best I could do. This is much better, and no odd resolution requirements!

Wow, this is a lot better than pee-ing, moaning, and getting into a pig-headed debate with people about which is the right aspect ratio

You get an E-Tank

Excellent work and thank you.

Thanks, this is great. Out of curiosity, is there a way to get this perfectly integer scaled without any smoothing?

Edit: found another option: https://helixmod.blogspot.com/2019/10/mega-man-legacy-collection-2.html

This works well for MM9, but MM10 still has uneven pixels

This is absolutely perfect, thank you so much, I love you <3

Why is this not pinned to the top of the board?!?!?! Thank you for this!

Next to find a similar solution for MMX Legacy Collection 1. How did they screw these up so badly when the first Legacy Collection was perfect?
