Unpopular megaman opinions
The name says it all. I'll start

Sheep man is awesome

Spring man could've actually been a great robot master

Clown man is awesome

Finally, I really want capcom to make a gameboy megaman collection

Any other unpopular opinions?

edit:Wow, this was a lot more popular than I thought it would be, so thank you :)

Sheep Man has probably the best level theme in MM10.

Elpizo is a super cool sympathetic villain who does an excellent job of highlighting the moral nuances that define the Zero series by demonstrating that neither side of the war is holy and that even the best intentions can go disastrously awry. Zero is a series without heroes- those who aspire to be them become the bad guy every time, no matter how humble or glorious their beginnings. Elpizo shows this expertly.

MM2's Wily Castle theme is the single most overrated piece of videogame music ever made. It's nothing special;

This is the best Wily Castle Theme:

Mega Man ZXA is better than ZX;

Mega Man X2 is the weakest SNES Mega Man and one of the weaker entries in the X series that aren't downright terrible (namely, X6 and X7).

MMBN5 has possibly the worst plot I've ever seen in anything. It is that bad.

GBA Mega Man & Bass soundtrack > SNES one.

Elpizo as a character is fairly nice, but utterly disappointing as a boss.

MM7 is one of the best of the series (MM9 and MM5 top it).

MM2 is not THAT awesome.

MM8 voice acting, after first shock, is actually quite adorable (with some perspective).

unpopular opinion #69

I liked megaman 7 and don't understand the universal hatred for it. ..

GB Mega Man Legacy Collection could work. 1-5, and since they are relatively tiny games of little note, add SNES Mega Man and Bass, and Power Fighters 1 & 2, Battle and Chase, and why not Soccer.

As for unpopular opinions... 7 is awesome. Every level has at least one extra thing to find and help you.

I must be stupid. I never knew 7 had a unpopular stigma. I thought that was more of 8's thing

I'm actually not sure if 7 has a stigma either, it's just on several occasions, I've seen people make comments like "i love all the megaman games, except 7, that was bad, really bad"

and...I just went back to an earlier thread to find the quote, and realized that particular person was talking about X7, not 7.

I have , on occasion , heard people express a dislike for the snes megaman 7, one person claiming that it "didn't feel like a megaman game" another one criticising it because they felt that "the sprites for megaman and the robot leaders were too large"

but yeah, I totally agree that the later megaman X games sucked, namely, X5 and X6

I actually didn't know there was an X7. I do know that X5 and X6 were rushed out the door within 6 months of each other, there couldn't possibly have been much quality control there.

apparently, there's also an X8 which I never knew about.

and I was unawar ethat people hated megaman 8. megaman 8 was one of the first games I had on playstation, besides soul calibur which came bundled with my system and I thought it was awesome.
I mean, the voice acting in the anime scenes was super corny, but that's what makes it good. It's like an episode of MST3K, except you're playing it and you don't need the awful commentary to make it funny.

side note, this leads to

unpopular opinion #578

I don't like MST3K, I think it is a totally overrated series. I've tried really, really, hard to like it. I've heard it described as "watching bad movies with your 3 funniest friends" but it feels more like "watching bad movies with your 3 lamest friends that try way to hard to get forced laughs and fail horribly at it", it's not the movies that are bad, it's the commentary, the 2 robots and that guy are totally lame, their jokes aren't funny, they try too hard and they just distract you from the actual movie.
I've seen youtube let's plays with way better commentary than MST3K

and I know that's an unpopular opinion, but I'm just telling it like it is. I like to shoot straight.

6 & 7 are solid games
3 is a chore
X1 and X2 are the only solid games in the X Series. X3 is bad and the series just gets progressively worse with every new entry.
BUT despite all the crap I talk about X6, I enjoy playing it for some weird reason.
ZX Advent is good
Legends is boring
I enjoy fighting Flame Hyenard

MM&B wasn't that bad.

The gamecube battle network game was super fun, as were the gameboy ones.

I don't actually know enough about the fandom to know if those are unpopular opionions I just wanted to talk about the megaman games I had as a kid.

unpopular megaman opinion # 777

I liked Megaman Legends. The one with Tron Bonne and Bon Bonne....except for that monkey, that stupid monkey that wouldn't, stop, doing, the monkey.
it gave me nightmares
