What is Legacy Mode?
In the settings for Mega Man 9, there's a "Legacy Mode" option you can toggle on and off. No idea what it does though.

Also, has anyone found a way to view your achievements in Mega Man 9? You can unlock them, but I can't see a list anywhere.

NES-style sprite flicker mode. It wasn't very popular, so they didn't bother adding it to MM10.

You can see your MM9 achievements by hitting up Challenges from the main menu of the collection, then choosing MM9.

Oh, so they hit the achievements outside of the actual games. Odd. Thanks, though!

Sprite limitation, to give you feeling like the originial. ^^

Megaman 9 was so focused on nostalgia that it downgraded the game experience (Megaman lost the charge shot for example) and added things like articial sprite flicker.

10 was the better compromise, as it was mostly just in the graphical and chiptune music presentation. Megaman is still a shadow of his former self, but Protoman and Bass make up for that (Bass in particular playing almost identicle to Megaman & Bass him, save for a missing double-jump).

I don't consider getting rid of the charge/slide a downgrade to the game experience. Especially the charge, which was kinda OP and made you run around constantly holding B because there's no reason not to. I still think 9 is the best in the classic series.

I grew tired of holding the charge button all the time too and how the charge shot usually made several other weapons worthless.

I'm fine with removing it and sliding as long as the game is designed around that. Sliding was a cool mechanic that allowed the devs to create interesting boss patterns so it's a shame to see it gone.
