Also - may I know what you are working on? :D
Hey I know this is a VERY old thread, but I am trying to do something similiar, however when I reimport the models they end up all jumbled in eachother instead of their ingame places. I was wondering if there was a way to fix this?
Depending if the asset you are looking at is a Scene or a Entity/Prefab you may lose some of the transform data from extracting from the game inspector
in some cases I had to use a unity bundle extractor to recover this data and recreate within Unity.
