Electric Generation and Flank Speed

I understand that the diesels shouldn't charge the batteries when at flank speed, but when running at flank speed, the batteries are being drained by the gyrocompass, etc., since there is no electricity being generated.

Surely the diesels should at least be outputting enough electricity to power the boat?

I have also seen, while stopped, the diesels using -12 electricity per minute, though I can't replicate it now. What would cause that??

Any power that goes to charging is taken away from propulsion. When you want to go at utmost speed, you don't do that.

I literally said I'm not asking to charge the batteries, I'm asking to at least not drain them. Did the boat just drain the batteries when the engines were at full power?

On U-boats, auxiliaries were powered by the batteries, even when underway at partial power. They recharged them daily.

Exception: during buffer mode, in the heaviest seas.

Just flank speed by itself shouldn't be; I've heard of them using the electrics to squeeze some extra speed out, but I've no idea how you'd set that up in the game, if it's even implemented.

Sadly there's no flank speed, only full speed. The battery is being drained due to the "gyrocompass"
