disabling observation periscope during alarms/silent running

as the title suggests, tired of stalking a ship or convoy and trying to be stealthy but lo and behold one fool who wants to use the observation periscope giving me away. Since it's a sailor and I cant just tell him to stop. So being able to set it so during silent running or an alarm the observation periscope is disabled

I remove observation periscope from their routine in the crew scheduling area. Also when an officer is assigned the periscope I do not assign any crew to assist as this can also trigger them to use the observation periscope.

It's due to the second sailor assigned to the officer on the attack periscope. Assign only one sailor and the observation periscope should stay down

Had no officers assigned to the periscopes during a dangerous getaway and still one sailor kept using the observation periscope. Highly annoying in only 15-20 meters of water... Got away with it luckily.

In the crew management section you need to remove the observation periscope and give it a 0.

If you have no officers selected hold down ALT key and right click on observation periscope, select the "Disable for crew option". I m not sure if this will work if you have additional crew assigned to officer on attack scope though. Regards
