The voice output is very quiet

How can you make the voice output louder?
I can hardly understand it.

completely agree. sometimes it starts off fine, then after playing for a while the sounds get very quiet (for me it is all sounds).

i had no issue like this while running the beta, has been consistent challenge since release.

This game does somehow require a higher volume setting than normally, that's right.

i have same problem. Crew voices are almost inaudible even when I've got the slider all the way to the right in audio settings. If I turn the speaker volume up to hear them it makes all the other sounds extremely loud. It's really annoying!

Enable Loudness Equalization in windows sound control panel.

It's a hack fix, but it'll make the game actually playable so you can hear people without waking up the whole house. Just remember to disable it again when finished playing.

Crew voices can not be heard since full version of game released. Tried all adjustments nothing helps. Please fix this. I have over 300 hrs in this game but now have lost the immersion with the loss of character voices. All voices on ship and in port. Please fix this

I gave you a fix, directly above. Until the game gets an full audio audit this method works 100% to correct the low voices vs earth-shattering explosions.

Right click the volume icon down by your clock -> Sounds -> Playback Tab -> Doubleclick your active audio device (the one with green checkmark) -> Enhancements Tab -> Checkbox in Loudness Equalization -> Apply, then OK.

Turn it back off later.

Yeah Windows 11 hides that option depending on which version of the Audio Driver is installed. A lot of people upgraded their existing Win10 PCs to Win11 went "wtf, where did it go?" Win11 overrode the old driver.

If you really want to mess with it you can get it back by using the Win10 driver.
