So you do have to uninstall yourself.
I run it on linux , proton experiemental, using
-> PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 PROTON_FORCE_NVAPI=1 LD_PRELOAD="" gamemoderun %command% <-
This is a video of how the game looks on my rig.
I do play it on 2.5k, reduced the graphics quality slightly since it's still through proton, to avoid any problems.

It does keep some stuff in shared commons but it shouldn't be 45GB
The fully installed game is only 76Gb.
- Look for any Mods you were running with the game as they may still be updating and saving to the drive.
- I commonly see new downloads for some of the game mods I'm running, mostly the gauges and dials modes being downloaded.
It did not uninstall because it was never really installed, which may explain why it never ran.
Regardless, I transferred the folder to an external hard drive and it took up 45GB of space, but deleting did not free the space up.
I had no mods
