UBOAT
smoke reported on horizon in three instances, nothing seen
perfectly clear sunny day. Why would I not be able to see the smoke that my own crew reported?

tl:dr it should be there, did you use TC while this was happening and could have just yeeted past the encounter?

I have an example from a random encounter where it works as it should.
as soon as the smoke enters the extended view circle you get a smoke notice , then it turns into a ship as you close.

the thing is i can see it directly from a longer distance so i can move the sub towards the smoke,
also i didn't look with the bino directly at it so it never registered nothing else but the passive view range from a manned optic with 2 extra sailors on.
after closing in i look at it with the bino and it turns into a close range event.

skip to 31:20 to see this chain of evens happening.

No TC being used at the time. I've had many encounters with smoke being reported and this is the first time nothing could be seen with either the oribital view or the attack periscope, skipper on it with two sailors. Usually, smoke will be seen long before the ship breaks over the horizon, even if the smoke is faint, but absolutely nothing there in this case.

when you notice that happening, it's good to make at least a save instantly and then report it with F11.
devs need to recreate this in order to fix it.

you say isn't TC which is fair , but are you in the middle of the ocean? where this happens? or stopped for a hydro check?
are you moving?

I was between Ireland and Scotland. I stopped dead in order to follow the course of the reports. I had the blue beams that show the direction and as I sat there attempting to get a visual confirmation of the funnel smoke reports and not getting them, then I went to TC to show the movement of the blue beams for a indication of direction of movement.

I had this when some mods were enabled and activated that added different types of ships that were not in the original game. Of course, by the way, the developers of these mods do not always have time to update them for the original game version (last). That's why I think such problems may arise.
