UBOAT

SPACE-sim game like Uboat
Greetings to you submariners.
I wanted to ask - if anyone knows any little-indie projects with similar mechanics as in this game...but in space.
So that you could walk around the ship as a captain and give orders to the crew...everything is exactly like in U-Boat, but in outer space.

In general, it would be cool if the developers made a future project in this vein. Considering that they already have an engine. You can simply transfer the entire action to the future, to space. (with minor changes, of course):kat:

a good simulator: Reentry. Now given the tiny space in current spaceships, you stay strapped in your seat :D

Reentry is absolutely amazing. The dev is a monster genius.

Star Trek Bridge Crew. You play with friends, but there are also bots that aren't too bad. It's abandoned, though, with a few large-ish bugs. Really, really die-hard trekkies still play it.

There's the space version of Bomber Crew, if you like that kind of game: Space Crew. FTL is much better. And even Galaxy Trucker, based on the great board game, but that's a stretch.

Then there's some real oldies, like Artemis and Starship Horizons. For true (lovable) nerds.

Starship Simulator will be out soon, STEAM has a demo.

Not a space-sim, but, it has many of the same mechanics like UBOAT

The classic Star Trek Bridge Commander is far better than Bridge crew and it has a lovely single player campaign/story.

The problem with this game suggestion is that the game was abandoned and also has very bad mechanics like sporadic leaks and other issues that would not occur normally on a ship at sea. If it had realistic mechanics like Uboat it might of been a worthy suggestion but I would pass on it because it was abandoned alone..

I wrote down Bridge Commander, but then erased it. Bridge Commander was great in its day, I have no idea if it will run now. File it under oldies. But if we're going down that route, the old Interplay Star Trek games with the pixel graphics are on STEAM, aren't they? Those are the grand-daddy of games like U-Boat.

There is a very very niche space game called Aurora 4x.

I love Aurora, but it is nothing like uboat. You can absolutely can make a low thermal signature FAC with box launchers that is effectively a uboat, but that is a tiny sliver of a very complex game that looks like a RADAR screen.

It only hits the small indie dev and in space.
It is an obvious stretch to have them be "similar" even remotely, but parts of the gameplay loop has some vague resemblance.

Maybe KSP. Or X4.
all of them are vague shadows of each other selective bits, since there isn't a direct 1:1 clone as far as i know.

I mean there are different games that will hit that specific fix you are looking for and you like in Uboat.
I pointed at Aurora 4x since its covers a lot of ground with a lot of different aspects of space sims.

The problem with your comment is that you're full of ♥♥♥♥ because there's no StarTrek game that has anything in common with UBOAT
LMAO

Barotrauma is more geared towards multiplayer co-op, (but singleplayer is technically possible in a crude way with AI crewmates). Futuristic setting if it was the sci-fi element you were looking for.

+1, I find the game a crude one. Lots of potential was wasted and it barely goes beyond a mobile game. So I highly avoid recommending it.

I'm a space sim fan and I can say: There is no good space game that focuses on crew handling like in UBOAT. Exceptions are maybe some of the Star Trek game series and the orginal FLT title and various remakes of it which play in 2D or top-down perspective.

Remember this game...Perhaps it is the closest to what I wanted. However, it is a bit annoying that you have to hurry. There is no possibility to freely travel around the map and there is always not enough time. I'll have to play it again sometime.
