Ability to draw parallel lines to use 4 bearing method of triangulation
I try to do all calculations myself in this game for a more immersive experience. I turned off map contact info and want to locate ships determine course and speed and predict where I will meet the target. Am I missing something? or is making parallel lines not possible with the compass tool in this game? Devs, Please add this function in the full release.

Here you need to deviate a little from the silent hunter’s methods for constructing lines and then everything will work out.
Parallel ones can be built using a protractor, measuring the bearing of the line and duplicating it on a new one.
There is also a more convenient option - using the Bearings for Map Tools mod, it allows you to immediately obtain reference bearings on the lines. And then draw a line with the required bearing from another point.
This is much more convenient than carrying a protractor ring, as we did in SH

First, and foremost, I totally support the idea of something to do parallel lines. Very useful for doing plots and planning maneouvers on the map.

Still, if you're using map contacts off I'm guessing is because you want to go realistic and immersive (even while it's neither of them, it makes the game harder, not more realistic). Yet the 4-bearing method was developed in the mid-50s, IIRC, and was something the germans never did during WW2, so if you want immersion, you shouldn't use it.

Alex, thank you. Seems more cumbersome than just dragging a copy of a line but it may be a reasonable work-around till Devs implement the tool function. I'll have a go. I'm sure with some practice my duplication of the line this way will become more accurate. I appreciate the input. Ramjbjb agreed I heard the uboats didn't use this method but I was looking for a challenge trying to avoid the periscope. Also comes in handy in fog and extra dark nights. If you are aware of how they actually attacked without a visual contact, please share the info. Thanks . I do enjoy this game.

So as ramjbjb suggested submerged attacks w/o periscope visual contact were not performed by the u-boats in ww2. I located an actual THE SUBMARINE COMMANDER'S
HANDBOOK from 1943 for uboat comanders. Attacks were either performed on the surface or submerged at periscope depth with both sound and visual conformation of the target.
https://maritime.org/doc/uboat/index.php#par105. That said thr 4 bearing method is fun and challenging to use and the tool update would be a nice addition to the game,
