Crew not cleaning?

My crew is not cleaning despite giving cleaning station a priority of 5 over the cooking station's 4. I don't have missing cook, but the cleaning isn't been done.

do you have them assigned to officers? if they are doing other stuff, they cant clean.

it takes a while for it to clear even once they are freed up.

Cleaning and cooking are infinite tasks. If you assign one person to both, they will only do one task forever

How do you assign a sailor to cleaning? I don't see it in tasks fx.

I think you can't see that task if you don't have the extended handling (or whatever it's called) enabled in the game's realism settings.

If you have too much of your crew on duty assigned to officers (bottom right, ie. 8/8) then cooking/cleaning get neglected because the crewmen are told to follow the officer. They only do those tasks when idle. If one of your crew gets wounded/sick, their blip on the officer will turn red. This is really bad because now you run the risk of not having enough crew to even steer the ship -- I've been forced to put an officer on the Helm because of this.

tl;dr: don't have everyone stuck to officers, especially during long alarms or cleaning stops.
