Btw, your first officer's main job should be to take command of the crew when your skipper is resting. And even when both of them need rest at the same time, most of your time will be spent by getting from point A to point B, which your crew can do on their own, at least for a while.
Map - its once way for compression right now
And i can skip time.. all you have to do is go to the map, and on the top left you can speed up the time.. It doesn't matter what your captain does
I think.. you are making me doubt now. But if skipping time wasn't an option for the longer travels, i wouldn't be even able to play this mode..
I'm pretty sure it works..
There are other factors why you cant speed up faster.. enemies nearby, or shallow waters. near land.. those kind of things.
It is an odd choice I think also, I understand being able to do it in map mode, but I would rather resting instead of periscope. I tried opening up map mode once and when I closed it he had gotten up from his bed and was walking towards the map station so I havnt tried that since. Currently I just sit on the bed, then turn on a tv show to watch for a while irl lol
If it shows the grey circle with the line that will mean that he's not.
I also find it useful in skipper mode to remove all his priority orders in the crew management, as you decide what he does anyway.
"Travel" - is set up just like any other officer
"Attack" - only Observation as job duty
"Evade" - only Navigation as job duty
That way when I'm just traveling and using lots of time compression, he follows the schedule like everybody else.
If I'm attacking a target, I switch him to "attack" and if I'm surfaced he will remain on the coming tower and if I'm submerged he will remain on the attack periscope.
And if I am submerged and trying to get away, I put him on "evade" so that he remains in the control room.
You do have to switch his schedule over to "free time" when you do this, or all "on duty" until you plan to travel again and want him to resume a normal schedule.
awesome, thanks for the tips!! i guess i just didnt pay enough attention and just thought he got out of bed when i was in map mode and didnt think it worked, this will help out a bunch thanks
