What do long-time players think of the full release?
I bought the early access a few years ago but I haven't played in awhile. Just curious what people think of the full release? Does the game really feel finished? Also curious, are all the ports finished now? It used be you could sail into a Brit port but when you get there it said it wasn't done yet. Any other impressions? I'm thinking to get back into it, or maybe its better to let it cook a bit longer with the patches and whanot. Whaddaya think?

Yes, you bought the game, now play it. There are a few things here and there that could use more work, but this remains an amazing game. Patches and mods will make it even better!

Its good, bought the game many years ago, i stopped playing due to the instancing mechanic which they have now totally removed!

Ports still feel dead, but this game is really going to explode for the right people when a mega mod comes out. "UBOAT EXPANDED" may be the first of them.

It's really good. I have no regret in being here for the long haul. The first early early days were pretty rough, you really needed the mods that worked then to make it really playable.
Now it's worth it, and I bought the support DLC with no hesitation.
Loved seeing it grow in the 'remake' BETA.

One thing I noticed, finally got rid of the distance requirements on patrols. It's still there, but now it looks like tonnage has a higher priority to complete your mission. Made zero sense to stay on patrol if you're out of torpedoes.

Meh. It's a lot better but it still doesn't really match the likes of Silent Hunter for me. I just find the actual hunting way too clunky. It's got cool crew management and mission types, but the hunt itself, which imo is the fun bit of sub sims, is lacking imo.

About what I would expect from a game at 1.0 really. The base is there, there appear to be some bugs that need ironing out, and ideally I'd like them to expand on it in the future.
The games a lot better now but there are a few bugs I think that have popped up with crewman tasks and animations freezing up. I do notice a patch came out today that fixed the type IIA so maybe its better, have not noticed yet.

The game has evolved significantly. The 1.0 version made a huge step forward. You simply can't compare this version to the game state from 2020. And even the difference to the last stable version 2022 is extreme. They've done a good job.

But I'm also with some here mentioning it still needs some additions/polish. The harbors need love and the hunt is indeed a bit clunky at times. But what I really dislike is the campaign style with needing to reach certain goals to unlock things. But that's just a personal opinion.

Overall the game will get better each month from now on. The modders have new tools and at Christmas this game will show, how good it can be :) not to forget: the commitment of the devs is unique. Uboat has a bright future.

If you are a patient one you can wait a bit so you can use most of the mods when they update them.

I would pay for a DLC called Ports Unleashed or Harbor Havoc where civilians, workers, soldiers, military vehicles, seagulls, special missions with npcs and atrezzo are added to all ports.

it's ridiculous that's what i think....
introduced so many bugs with this version and they don't even bother fixing them...
boat can't even go to periscope depth properly anymore, it's practically a suicide to go to periscope depth while there's ships around you in visible range because IT SURFACES ALMOST COMPLETELY and then dives back...

Put an officer on depth steering and he'll prevent the boat from breaking the surface when going up.
