Ideas for multiplayer DLC
The best option for wolfpacks could be an optional multiplayer mode but no direct interaction with other uboats. When you have wolfpack mission and get to the meeting point that could be a server to spam a timed encounter with some other players and no pause allowed. Think some of dark souls multiplayer options but for indirect co-op submarine warfare.

I think that kind of "passive multiplayer" for wolfpack missions to attack big convoys (and perhaps other types of missions and encounters like helping other players, guarding a coordinate, escorting ships etc...) could be a nice adition and would not be against the single player experience. Wouldn´t be cool to meet another sub piloted by a player when you are leaving the port? That kind of encounters and wolfpacks could be posible if there is "passive multiplayer" where server instances could be dynamically created and eliminated.

I think a future expansion DLC to add this kind of gameplay could elevate this game to the next level and atract a lot of people.

This has been discussed many times before. The best option for MP wolfpacks is to buy copies of the actual Wolfpack game on STEAM. In UBOAT, the time compression and such would make shoehorning a MP option very difficult.

That, and how would you deal with griefers and team-killers? People complain about losing their progress to new updates. Would losing your sub to HAXXORZ_[6969] be any better as he screams racist insults at you with his 11-year-old voice from the hellhole of his Mom's basement?

Griefers shouldn´t be a problem because in that passive multiplayer there is no chat and no voice comunication at all so the only thing they could make is to launch torpedos against you but that could be easily countered making the uboats inmune to player´s torpedos. Every grief always has a counter.

The wolfpack multiplayer missions would be with no pause and no time compression. Thats is because i said a timed encounter.

I respect wolfpack but is not my cup of tea. i want this game to thrive.

Sure you can set up points in the Atlantic that when your sub reaches them, gives you the option to join a multiplayer lobby... Then you can sit around and wait however long it takes for the one to three other subs to join your lobby, and for a multiplayer lobby like this I expect a convoy Target.

Then with no communication with the other subs, and no time compression, you get a chance to go after this convoy....

Whoever gets the first torpedo off and on target, everybody else has to deal with the zigzagging convoy, and they have to deal with all the escorts.

Currently the AI is not smart enough to handle multiple U-Boat attacks. Anytime you reach a convoy that is currently being tailed by another U-boat, and that U-boat attacks, all the escorts hone in on him leaving you free pickings of the convoy.

Perhaps the torpedo shots only could be fired in a relative small time window of oportunity, After that, server finish and every player comes back to their off line games with the same convoy position minus the sunked ones. I dont know but i am sure all problems could be handled with a bit of imagination by the developers side.

As long as all that is totally optional and it' doesn't set back any relevant improvement and/or dlc people can get what they want, even mp. Just don't count on the majority of the playerbase to ever touch that mode...

Perhaps you should leave fantasy land, accept this will never happen and go play Wolfpack if MP is what you crave?
