UBOAT

Is this worth it for £8?
I've been tracking this game for a while. I'm coming from SH3, which I cant play because it's disk-based and my gaming laptop doesn't have a drive. This gives me a choice. Pay for an external DVD drive to run SH3. I have a gift card balance which would essentially make this a free option. OR, I buy UBoat on-sale and just bear with the glitches as the game matures. I REALLY want to enjoy this as much as I enjoyed SH3 and the only thing that puts me off doing that is the age of the game and its' reliance on mods. I'm not sure what to do so I thought I would ask the established player base before I either run out of time on the sale or buy the DVD Drive and end up hating on SH3.

It is well worth the money. I have many hours simming it and I always learn something about sub warfare and submarines. UOAT.net is a really interesting reference if you are interested in the history. Not sure if the laptop will run it well though, the graphics are fantastic.

okay bro the game is EXTREMELY good, barely any bugs/glitches when I play.
Idk if you've just been watching early development videos or what but its practically ready for release as it is.
not sure if your laptop will be able to play it though, its kinda intensive sometimes. Lots of lights and shadows etc.

Yes. Eight pounds is a sandwich and coffee. It's definitely worth it.

There may be some bugs with the new beta, but its very playable and will give you countless hours of fun. As a former SH3 player, I can tell you it's very much on par.

it's an absolute bargain at £8

Game is in good shape assuming youre not running on a potato.

Game is being updated regularly and has a bright future.

No, it isnt perfect, but one day it will be

Worth it at £800, I think.

100%. I bought this for less than that!

To be very truthful, it's well worth the full price so the discount price is a bargain.

This game is so much better than SH3. Get it

After sinking about 30 hours into it recently, I can honestly say I feel guilty that I did not pay full price for it.

This is one of the best games, period, made by some of the best devs, period. Well, too many periods, period. You need to buy a copy and then another copy as a back-up. Really, everyone should own three copies of this game, at full price, it's that good.

Rather than buy an external CD Drive if you have a Uplay account you can buy SH3 for £4.29 or SH5 for £8.59. But I would definitely recommend UBOAT it's a steal at £8.

I got SH3 from steam for 3 euro something. It runs right out the box, but I just needed a key for LSH.
I still have it as a boxed version tho, but no drive... ;b

I've only got SH2, SH3 & SH5 in their boxes. Don't know what happened to 1 & 4. Might be in the loft with all my other boxed games. The SH5 box is metal with a plastic sleeve and still in mint condition. Might be worth something one day :)
